It has some impressive solo's and it strongly reminds me of Dark Tranquillity at times, but I'm not really getting into it as a whole, mainly due to the vox.

Wow, I am actually disappointed. I hoped for a different outcome after listening to the singles but no, this just lacks the sound that made their last two albums so great

And Bloodred Hourglass do it again! This is a perfect follow up to their already amazing previous album. On first listen it might have fewer memorable moments than the previous one, but the sound and atmosphere are exactly the same. It feels catchy and border mainstream at times, but actually always manages to retain that typical Finnish MDM melancholy. I think the 40mn format suits them better as well, the previous was a tad too long. It took me a few listens to get used to the shift in sound on the previous album, but I’m totally on board now.

IMHO this surpasses the new Insomnium in pretty much every way, and it’s interesting that it feels more serious than Insomnium even though it has all those clean singing and choruses. Definitely the best Melodeath band in Finland today.

I really like the new style with more synth melodies. I strongly preferred the second half of the album. Devotion is a good mix of their old and new styles.

I turned it off the first time midway through the second song, since my experience aligned with that of the first two commenters; the subsequent 2 comments inspired me to give it another go, which I kinda regret now. It has decent moments for sure, but overall I find it a bit tedious; certainly wouldn't pick it over a number of other currently active Finnish melodeath bands

The sound, production, songwriting, everything seems off in this album for me.
