Question: Kirk Hammett played on the latest K'Naan album and I wanted to add that to his profile, but I am not sure how to. Could someone please help me out?

If I submit a review a little bit before the 90 days period, will it be destroyed or will it just stay on the sidelines and published after that 90 days?

Was just wondering why the session method 'kicked' me out even though I never left the site, was just idling. I guess the session method ain't for idling.

Have no clue about this, would need to ask Ivan this question to know for sure.

Sessions expire eventually, that's the reason.

I suppose it should eventually but I don't know long you have your session expiration set to but I have yet to get any session expiration. The only time I ever have to log back in at home is when I've logged in from a different computer; even restarting my laptop to allow updates to take effect doesn't kill my session. I can go days without ever having to log back in, as long as I don't log in elsewhere. Although it would be nice if that could be changed (no clue what that would entail since I know very little about web design, so don't take that personal), that's one of the few things the MA people did right cuz I can log in on multiple different computers and my session for them never logs out here at home.

Does wikipedia count as a valid source for musician's bios? There's a lot onhere that are from there but I don't know if its still allowed.
Also, seeing the above question about logging on/off, if your logged in on one computer, and then try to log on with another computer, but still have the 1st one open, what happens? Does the 1st one get logged out automatically? Or can't the 2nd one log in because your still activly logged on the 1st? Or does the 2nd ask if you want to force the 1st one off?

I think it depends, for musician bios I think Wiki is ok but I'm not the FBC so I can't say for sure, but I know that Troy allowed Wiki for some things; but Wiki has and never will be considered "official".

If you log in on computer A and then go and log in on computer B, the new log in connection on B cancels out your log in connection on A. Your log in on computer A will not prevent you from logging in elsewhere so no you don't have to worry about remembering to log out before you leave the house every day.

But what if computer A is still active? Basically, can 2 computers be simultaniously logged on, and can you log on while someone else is still using the logon on another computer?

The Aerosmith compilation "Devil's Got a New Disguise - The Very Best of Aerosmith" has 2 different versions, an American and a European, both have 5 songs that the other does not have, plus a slightly different track order. The version here is the American one. How do I add the European one (which is the version i've got)?

The official instruction (example) says like this:
...
If either one of those is the main edition/version of this, then put it as the first tracklist.

Thanks, I've just submitted it. The tracklist prievew looked liked it worked.

Lyric videos. So nowadays some artists release these sort of simple videos with lyrics on it. For example Lamb Of God released a lyric video of "Ghost Walking" in 2011 and later in 2012 again released another video of the same track (animated this time). The latest lyric video comes from the band Dirge Within with the track "For My Enemies". Are these type of videos what MS represents with its video 'collection' (I guess the answer is yes, but I just want to know how it really is)?

Another thing... more of a suggestion this time... Why not just change the whole 'videos' -section into 'music videos' -section, because that is what those exactly are; music from the album & a video for it. This would also eliminate all the addings of trailers, behind-the-scenes, talking-abouts, promo-somethings etc.

Well, I remember we added the new Dream Theater lyric video, so I guess it could apply to all... about the video section, I never casually browse it, but I don't think we ever add trailers and that kind of stuff.

Oh yes. It is a music videos section, which carries a title 'videos'. Sorry, I was a bit unclear there. I just wanted to suggest that the title should be changed. Video is so wide a term.

Ahhh, nitpicking, my favorite sport suggestion duly noted, but I don't think anyone besides you and me has ever wondered about that/would like to change it.

How come invisable bands appear in the top albums by genre but not in the top albums by year lists?

Probably the dumbest question you've had in a while, but how do I rate albums in the Albums section? I've looked over albums, the section itself, searched for topics concerning my question and even looked at the artists' pages in question, and I just know that it'll be somewhere obvious as hell now too lol.....

Look under the album art and you'll see 5 "tabs", click the blue one that says RATE...

The link for Tjodalv on the page for Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is broken.

Because he hasn't been added as a musician to the band's profile, only to the line-up on the album page.

No, this is due to a high number or errors with line-ups.

Some of them were pretty major, like saying Attila did the vocals on Live in Lepzig

I believe you have to click a check box now for the line-up to be shown.

Yeah, I saw the checkbox when I put in the lineup for an album.
Is it worth going through my cds and putting the lineups in?
And with Live In Liepzig, I've seen things claiming Varg was the bassist (despite it not being chronologically possible), so I'm not suprised someone thought attila was on it. They probably didn't see/know when it was recorded. Was Blackthorn on it, btw?

I've noticed some albums don't have a genre atached to them because they were released after the band had disbanded (eg. Dungeon played power untill 2005, their last album was released 2006). Is there a way to add genre's to albums outside the band's active years? ( A seperate but similar question is about Darkthrone's Frostland Tapes compilation. It's down as black but is a collection of recordings from their death era, or any compilation released after the band has dissolved.)

Unfortunately not. It's kind of a flaw being that you have to add the year of the style for the album to appear under that genre... but you can't change the style to reflect the band performing after they disbanded, so those albums aren't included in their respective charts.

Try PMing Ivan about it and see what he says.

Yes, this is a rather complex problem. The only solution I can see is adding genre to albums (overriding the genre set by years) - though this has a potential to create a lot of chaos, especially if we open it to non-staff people

The other solution is using the last genre before the break-up for the album released after it...
