Would you rather have your music be love at first sight (or rather listen) or be something you can continuously explore and each time change how you feel about it? How many times do you have to listen to something before you accept that it won't click with you?

The songs released sounds quite awesome. Its sprawling and a bit unpredictable, and anti-capitalistic, liking this quite a lot. And I just realized that this is another billy andersson engineerd album that sounds great.

I never really got into Giant Squid and listening to this I'm kinda being reminded why; for the most part, these vocals just don't inspire much positive sentiment in me. As far as the music is concerned, some of it goes in interesting directions, but it also has significant stretches where it lacks appealing hooks or atmosphere. It also has a slightly muddy sound, which takes the edge off of things as well. I guess it's alright, but it didn't make me want to listen to it again.

I'd probably give it a 6 if it weren't for Ossify; when that came on I remembered why I had somewhat high expectations for this in the first place after that track was initially released.

Way more interesting than Pillorian's debut... The vocals are epic and fit the music imo.

Odd one. Not as catchy or impactful as I'd like. But it has a weird psychedelic or sad vibe to it at times. More listens

The vocals take some getting used to, but musically it's pretty good. This is easily the better of the two Agalloch fragments, there's plenty of atmosphere and interesting writing. Seasons Of Salt, Wave State, and Ossify are great songs.

Vocally, it's very similar to Jonas Renkse's vocals on 'Discouraged Ones'

Revisited this today and was reminded why I absolutely love this album. It’s Agalloch meets Giant Squid, two of my favorite bands. What’s not to like!
