I personally love that band and wanted to see what people thought of them. In my opinion, Steve Wilson is a genius. As of right now, I particularely love Shesmovedon, Lazarus and The Sound of Muzak.

You people must have heard about a project, well in fact I don't know if this is gonna see the light one day but Mickael Akerfeldt( guitar, vocals of Opeth) , Mike Portnoy (DrumsDream Theater) and Steven Wilson wanted to mount their own side project... If this one sees the light man... this only can be awesome... Mickael even spoke about bringing Robert Fripp (Spirit and Soul of King Crimson) to play with them... Imagine just the result of this just joy to theears again, the music would be so pure with those four geniuses... I just can't wait for them to release something this s just too big to be contained...

Well Peter said that in an intervew, the funny thing is that he was extremely shy about this project of bringing Fripp in this band because he is one of his idols and I think that he is on of theidols of Portnoy and Wilson too... It's like Bryan Belew playing a guitar solo on the 'Deadwing' album. But this is quite normal for people who play good progressive metal/rock to just pray King Crimson... Who wouldn't... But yeah I am very enthousiastic about this project I just wish to know when this album is gonna be released!

'Piano Lessons' is my favourite track of Stupid Dream but I always thought In Absentia and Lightbulb Sun were the more superior albums. Also, for some reason I can't see Fripp joining Portnoy/Akerfedlt/Wilson on their project. It just seems to inconceivable!

Both Robert Fripp and Alex Lifeson are guest musicians on the new PT album, I didnt believe it at first cause it seemed too good to be true. I cant wait for the new album which has been given the title Fear Of A Blank Planet.

I couldn' help not mentioning to you - for those who don't know - that Blackfield has released a new album, a MUST HAVE album, for all the people who enjoy PT - Steven Wilson music in general. I know there's another project of his called No Man - I've never listened unfortunately. Tell me something about it, PLEASE.

Fear Of A Black Planet eh? That's a great name for a progressive metal album! Sounds like it might have an environmentalist conceptual twinge to it.

the new material is amazing, it has the good old sound, but at the same time it's something different and new. they started to space metalize again, but the riffs are kept real heavy this time.

I've started listening to Porcupine Tree a few days ago...I've only listened to "Deadwing" and "In Absentia". I like more of "Deadwing", it has good songs like "Deadwing", "Shallow" and "Halo", so if this is a good album the other Porcupine Tree albuns must be even better...I'm liking this band

I'm discovering Porcupine Tree now, and i do realise i should've checked them before. Either way, i have "in Absentia" and "Deadwing" and i find both albums brilliant. I do agree that Wilson is a musical genius. Good singer and lyricist as well. I'm eager to hear the rest of porcupine tree's albums, im more and more into progressive music and this came at the right time.

Their last album is so good. I just love Porcupine Tree. IMO it's in competition with 'Paradise Lost' of Symphony X for album of the year. It has returned to some experimental sounds having left their old production, Steven Wilson has felt that he could produce a totally free music and the result is quite awesome. The band will never stop amazing me, I'm gonna see them in 'La Cigale' the 4th og July and I just Can't Wait. They're three last albums 'In Absentia' , 'Deadwing' and now 'Fear Of A Blank Planet' were just awesome. The older ones were more experimental especially the first ones but as good... weireder to get into though... this one 'Fear Of A blank Planet' is weirder than Deadwing but is so strong... Makes you feel so good, Steve Wilson has his own touch that really fit well with what I expect with this kind of music... Great album from an awesome band! Just one thing that I don't understand is that their tour guitar player (always the same) appears as a guest on that album with Robert Fripp (nice lad to be with) I don't understand why they're not taking him as a full member of the band... maybe he doesn't want to or just a money question... that's weird cause he's been following them since a long time now...

Steven Wilson actually took the name from Public Enemy's album and played with the words because he thought the name would fit his theme as well. So yeah, he was kind of influenced by Public Enemy.
