I have a blog where I write music reviews. Can I copy them to MS or will I be banned for not writing them strictly for MS?

Im not following MS rules anymore but sme eyar ago all music rewiews and anything alse shood be written for MS ONLY !!!

you mean text size?

It may be just text size, but i still feel like some fonts changed slightly in style...and especially i dont know if it was me, when i accidentally hit shift+scroll wheel and changed font size from what i was used to (if yes then i cant find the old good settings ), or it was a change from staff...

If a band's reformed again after they've broken up, how do you edit that?
And I have a similar question for bandmembers, do you just add them again if they rejoin the band or start playing a different instrument?

Bands rebirths can be seen from band's style(s) years.

Band members: Add the already existing band member (so that's a no for duplicate profiles for a musician), but add him with a new lineup id.

If Anette would rejoin Nightwish in 2013:


Nightwish profile -> [ Add members ] -> search (not new!) Anette Olzon and mark her -> fill in the info for the new period.

Would look like Tuomas Holopainen at the moment. Nightwish

It depends on what you did, you might have just scrolled up while holding down Ctrl. One way only increases/decreases the site's font size, the other way zooms in and out on the entire site page. The way to tell is did only the font size increase/decrease or did the Metal Storm logo in the upper right portion of every page also increase/decrease...

I think they should reinstate it....

Jucifer are on their own label (Nomadic Fortress Records) but are distributed by Relapse Records. Would Nomadic be the label their listed as here? (just want to make sure before I change it)

You have to go to your updates page and click

"?? Show watched bands and options"

at the top, under the description paragraph, and check all undesired bands...

Yup. I believe it was set up that way because not everybody wants to have to keep the bands they wish to watch in their Fave bands area, so the site seems to save every band you've listed in the fave bands area to that list.

p.s. I had that same problem a couple years back and was told about that link by Ivan. Felt pretty stupid afterwards since that link has likely been there since before I joined MS and was just too ill-observant to ever take notice.

What if a band has changed its name? Do we just leave that in the comments?

If the band kept pretty much the same line-up and and music styl, you can just modify it, if they changed too much I think it would be a good idea to just close the old band page and open up the new one

How do you modify that though? I've never seen a box or anything pertaining to the band name.

Oh! I don't know. I had another webzine I visit often in mind where any user can make those modifications. Here, I guess it would be up to Staff/Elite

Depends on how much they change. If they change the spelling, like Covenant > The Kovenant, then we just edit the name. If they changed their name completely, like Dred > Ouroboros, then we would put a break up year on the old band profile and create a new profile with the new band name/info. You can look at the 2 aforementioned band profiles to see fully. And it also depends on when they change too, cuz if they put out actual albums then we would make a whole new profile, like Dred/Ouroboros, but if they only put out like a demo or even nothing at all before the name change then we would just put the old name with the From-To years in parenthesis at the top, like Dyscarnate or ...And Oceans, and add the old name demo on the profile.

Naturally anything dealing with changing band names requires a Staff member.

I pretty much agree with psykometal about the name change thing...but it's important to see every case individually. Sometimes a band can release an EP or even a full length before changing name and you would still consider it the same band (Manticora is the best example I can think of at the moment), but in most cases it will be as psyko mentioned.

No clue. It's on a lot of profiles including mine and several other Staff members so it's probably something Ivan is doing with the site perms.

Does Nocturno Culto count as a guest or tour musician for Tryptykon? He did lead vocals ona song at a concert, which was released as a track (normal, not bonus) on the Shatter ep. Just want to make sure I add him in the right catagory.

I would call that a Guest then if he only performed on the one song at that one event. If he did that song at every stop on the tour then he would be a Tour musician.
