Fear of God? That average thrash band with lame female vocals? You really are Marcel's clone
Fuck off, that album is a 90's gem. Some people just don't get the vocals. The music is also pretty damn original I'd say.

Basmu - Infernal Circles Of The Sabbat (vinyl) I have a soft spot for raw misanthropic bm like ildjarn. Nocturnal Depression - Four Seasons to a Depression (vinyl) Though I like to think of myself as not being in a better headspace these days I had to get this album on vinyl as it one of my favorite dsbm eps

Aggalloch - Pale Folklore (vinyl re-issue) Not much needs to be said about this one. Bonjour Tristesse - Against Leviathan! (Vinyl) Always liked this band especially this ep, felt like I should contribute some money. Great black metal with a depressive dystopian feel. Trespasser - ἈΠΟΚΆΛΥΨΙΣ (vinyl) Forget Dawn Rayd this is the best leftist bm out there atm. Furious blast beats with a mix of hard-core and mgla type vocals.

Dark Tranquillity Atoma Insomnium - One for Sorrow Helloween - Walls of Jericho Dream Theater - 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence Dodheimsgard Kronet Til Konge Bruce Dickinson Accident of Birth Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Arch Enemy Wages of Sin Alice Cooper - Killer All of above are bands I know and love/like but for some reason (well there are plenty but I leave it at that) I have not had those albums in my collection. Some of albums I know and love from internet (e.g. Wages of Sin, Black Sabbath etc) so it is about picking up physical copy, some of them will be my first crack at that particular album despite I know band quite well (Atoma, 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence etc) and finally have bands discovered recently where I am catching up on them after I loved other album (One for Sorrow, Kronet Til Konge)

I'm collecting mainly vinyls - it still surprises me how much better the sound quality can be. I have vintage music equipment (amp from late 70's, the rest is from 80's/90's) - I love it. Thanks to some adapters I am also ale to listen to the music from phone or computer so it's easy to compare sound from various formats. My recently bought/received as gifts vinyls: Fields of the Nephilim - Ceremonies (signed copy from official store), on its way from UK. Can't wait to hear this concert in good quality. And as for a little guilty pleasure, I've recently got HIM - Razorblade Romance. That's quite a sentimental journey. And from non-metal music, Ritual Howls - Turkish Leather LP. A very nice dark atmospheric post-punk from US.

Written by vampira on 07.04.2024 at 16:06 Mainly online but I try to support the local second hand record shops as well. It's just quite difficult tracking down most of the stuff I'm after locally. My version of FaLaA is the original gatefold UK press. Terrific album. I don't have loads of goth-rock (unless you class the Mary Chain as goth) but I've got the Nephilim's "Elizium", some Cure and a couple of Mission singles. I keep meaning to buy some more. I've also recently got in to Type O Negative so I'm trying to find the cash to buy some of their vinyl. It's fairly expensive though!

Wolves in the Throne Room - Crypt of Ancestral Knowledge (vinyl) This is just an ep but I think it's some of the best work they have done in evoking that pagan enchanted winter forest feel. Same with the amazing art work. Perfect coming into winter over here. Agalloch - the Mantle (vinyl repress) Another amazing atmospheric record. So stoked the are repressing all these agalloch classics.

Alantic - Black Sands (cassette) Really enjoyed this , reminds me atmo/ dsbm when it used to be good. Also only 30 tapes so I thought I better nab one. Robes of Snow - Fall's Resplendence (cassette) Panopticony atmo folky black metal all about nature, nothing unique but very nice, great before or after a hike.

Type O Negative - Dead Again (Recent repress 2xLP). Original Type O vinyl is way out of my budget range. Fulci - Tropical Sun (2nd press on bone white vinyl). I've been after a copy for ages and I was so chuffed to find a reasonably priced one. In my opinion this is a death metal classic, and I'm hoping for exceptional things from their upcoming major label debut.

I bought two albums a few days ago. 1) Malpractice by Maladomini. It’s an amazing album. I’ve already expressed my overall thoughts on the album page, so I won’t expand on them here. 2) Confession by Toomas Vanem, who is one of the finest Estonian guitarists. Confession is much more to my liking compared to the previous album, which ventured too far into Djent wankery territory. Confession captures the same jazz and fusion goodness that made me fall in love with Vanem’s first album. Though his best work is his debut album, Confession is a return to form.

Picked up a couple of bits in the HMV sale for just £12.99 each which is cheap as chips. Motorhead - Hammered (20th Anniversary Edition on gold & black splatter vinyl. Far from their best, but a solid entry in the Motorhead back catalogue.) Voivod - Dimension Hatross (Splatter vinyl reissue with a nice album cover poster. I had the OG vinyl but temporary insanity caused me to sell it for next to nothing in the 00's. It's good to finally have it back). And I also picked up Zombie Flesh Eaters on Blu-ray for £8.99 as there's a big Arrow film sale as well.

Pull Down the Sun - Of Valleys and Suns (vinyl) nice to support local, not my kind of metal genre but still impressive. Earth - Primitive and Deadly (vinyl) Nice drone Sunn ((O)) - the white 2 Apart from the annoying talking on the first song this album can make feel stoned without touching weed.
