Announcement posted by Karl from the band's Myspace-

"We are currently finishing the mixes on the new Nile album entitled "Ithyphallic" , our first album for Nuclear Blast . So far we have been nothing but thrilled to work with the entire cast at NB , they have treated us exceptionally well and have given the band a Ferocious and Inspirational new lease on life. Dallas , George and I are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that this new record contains our best material yet , and Neil Kernon is working overtime to ensure that every single blasphemous Note is heard in alll its Primal Savagery.

There are 9 songs and one short acoustic piece , 2 of which are epic length songs , yet overall a wide range of tempos , some doomy , exotic elements as well as some unbelievably fast and catchy Metal .
A few song titles :

"Language of the Shadows"
"Even the Gods must Die"
"The Infinity of Stone"
"Ithyphallic"
"Papyrii containg the Spell to Preserve its Possessor against attacks from He who is in the Water"

We are , as could be expected, very much looking forward to our upcoming Australian Tour , our last tip down under went exceptionally well and we cant wait to play again for the rabid Aussie Metal fans . We will also indeed be bringing the Nile Brand of Ithyphallic Metal to the uninitiated masses at the summer Ozzfest , and , quite welcomely , playing our own Nile headlining shows for the off - Ozz days.
We are also anxious for the European Nile Fall tour that is in the works , where we will finally be able to play a nice long Nile set covering a wide range of material from all our albums.
Ithyphallic !!"

Awsome, looks like on the Australian tour we'll be hearing a few on the new tunes. Great that they're putting so much diversity into the album, not like they have enough already : . Keen on hearing the short acoustic piece.

OOhhh a new album sweet!

Black Seeds of Vengeance has been in my CD player for like a week now, its fanfrickingtastic I think I like it more than in their darkened shrines every song is awesome. My favorite would be Nas..blah blah, defiling the gates of ishtar and black seeds of vengeance.

naaah, Nile's success is just because they're one of the greatest death metal bands on earth, no commercialism... if Nuclear Blast ask them to do commercial shit, I would swear Nile will ask them to go fuck themselves

It does seem like they're going commerical though. They signed with Nuclear Blast and are playing Ozzfest, which give them a ton of exposure. Let's hope you guys are right....

Haha this is hilarious.. mainly because this guy is being serious. Clown

I'd like someone to actually draw a line between the point where a band becomes so popular that everybody likes them and the point of becoming commerical. Honestly in my opinion the two arent really parallel.

Theres something called supply and demand. When a band with so much power and fan base the demand for them has increased so they have to step into the spot light more. Oh wait isnt this being almost commerical...? Pfft, think harder about it.

I think what it is, when a band becomes popular, everyone is too cool to listen to them. The more I think about it, I've come to this. I see them turning out like Morbid Angel and Death, as being one of the respected, but popular, death metal bands.

I think its just typical to think that a band signing on to a large label means sell out......they havent even released their new album and some people are preconvinced that their sound is going to change.

Agree with both of you. Have people forogtten that Death were once signed to the dreaded and hated Roadrunner Records? Look where they. One of the most loved Death Metal acts, and yet even now days they are still not commerical or know as sell outs.

Nile will, later on down the track of time, be seen as on of these elite, respected and popular bands because of their originality. Has nothing to do with the label they're on.

True, but Roadrunner Records used to be a highly respected record label in the 80's and part of the 90's.

Nile will never sell out. I'm just hoping that their new album won't be overproduced, which I doubt.

Labels don't make a band. Opeth are on RR and they are still playing the same style of music. Anyways, Nile are pretty sweet. I have all four LPs and In Their Darkened Shrines is my favorite. Can't wait for the new one to come out. Read about it a few months ago and it sounds good.

Hang overs usually make up by making time go slow.

I'll do it though, 2 gigs this week end.

indeed. and i think he brought nile to this level now... i mean even a small kid now can play guitar and bass and reach any level .. but drums is quiet hard to do and it need more time SPECIALLY ur playing brutal or technical ... so Peter was a hell out of a drummer.

Taken awhile for me to get back to report back on their Australian tour. Man, first time seeing Nile live and maaaan they were awesome!! Think they are actually the best band that I've seen live, thats not topping much but takes a bit to knock Psycroptic off :

Very happy with the setlist which included a couple of new songs too which sounded really excellent. One was pretty catchy, the other was just normal Nile style - ie, fucking awesome, haha. Didn't catch the names of the new ones but they were pretty Egyptian sounding from memory.

After this I can wait for the new album
