I started in 2000... maybe... with Mirror Mirror by Helloween....

Got into it young cause my mom loved the stuff. lol

Ever since i was born, my dad is a kvlt metalhead and so it runs in my veins, i remember on my 3rd birthday my dad gave me a vinyl release of Death's Scream Bloody Gore

Since I was 13 I think.... I remember listening to Evanescence, Linkin Park, and lots of maintream shit, and then wanting more extreme music. I moved onto stuff like Nightwish, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, and Cradle of Filth and kept going from there... And next thing I knew, my friends and family started slapping the label "metalhead" on me as if it was a bad thing, but I took it as a compliment and knew it was true. No one in my family likes metal, though I managed to get my brother into some nu metal. And I didn't have any metalhead friends (aside from people I met online) until I was 17 or 18.

I got into in middle school, around 8th grade or so.

I got in to rock music in general (AC/DC, Kiss, Linkin Park, Saliva, Warrant) in about 8th grade (3 years ago). It took me till freshman year to discover Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, you know the drill. From there, I, like many other people, got in to Slayer, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Death etc. from there. So, I guess I have been listening to rock music for 3 years, metal for 2 years, but only started expanding my horizons about a year and a half ago.

Started listening in late 2005, about the time i registered on this website. i remember in the summer of 2005 i was really sad i couldn't attend the Nightwish concert here because it was too expensive and didn't have any money, so if my memory doesn't fail me, that's about when i became a huge fan of them, and started to get into other types of metal too with the help of Hammerfall, the 69 Eyes and Slipknot. pretty much typical newcomer bands so i'd say it more or less coincides with my registration here on metal storm, about 5 years and some months so far.

Around 8 or 9 years.

Five years now, ever since i bought "Countdown to Extinction" I haven't looked back.

My dad's been trying to get me into it for years, but I wouldn't start listening to it until around my first year in middle school.

I've only been listening to metal for about 2 years now, but christ I had never heard such incredible music before I listened to Metal!

At first it was usual metal like metallica, slayer, megadeth, anthrax, motorhead, iron maiden.

But now! I must listen to way over 100 metal bands. And I'm STILL finding more!!

Since the early 90s. I've started listening metal bands like Pantera, Metallica and Megadeth back then.

(Honest......) I just know metal 4 years ago when my sister's boyfriend and i went for Dimmu Borgir concert

Since I was a baby. My first show was Napalm and Extreme Noise Terror when I was 7.

Like 3 or 4 months lol. I'm expanding my metal horizons at a pretty good rate though. ß

I started getting into metal about 4 or 5 years ago when my dad took me to Ozzfest. Ozzfest really made me want to go out and find more and better bands.

I started listening to it by myself when I was about 12 or 13(so 7-8 years) before that my parents listened to metal. Which is great because I got all their old metal records.

About 3 years..

When I was young none of my friends liked metal nor did I have any sort of influence from home. I guess Metallica and Iron Maiden were the first bands I liked to a some extent along the rock and punk stuff I was mostly listening to in my teens along some classical and pop music I was singing and playing with my keyboards. At that time I still found most metal way too aggressive. About 7-8 years ago I started to get more into it when I met my husband and we started going to gigs together. It took me a long time to get into growling vocals but when that happened a couple of years ago I found a wide variety of great music that I can't get enough of.

About 40 odd years ... ever since Black Sabbath's 'Master of Reality' (I'm old, but still younger than Tony Iommi).

I like (almost) all genres of Metal, but these days I mostly listen to Black Metal and Symphonic/Gothic stuff ... mostly.

Ever since I was a young boy. My dad loved old thrash, some black metal, got into it at a young age. So around 23 years or so.

Iv been into metal since i was about 12-13 so that makes about 12-13 years, not sure exactly, I got master of puppets for my 13th birthday from my cousin, but i remember i had a few albums before that.
