Isn't that album one that people first recommend when talking about death/doom classics? I don't know how that album is not death/doom.

Exactly. Brave Murder Day is easily one of the ultimate classic death/doom albums and is also a masterpiece. Other classics would be Turn Loose The Swans, Transcendence Into The Peripheral and The Silent Enigma.

On-topic though, I listened to this album for a few minutes and then decided to put on some other music. The reason is the style, which indeed seemed like blackened death if you ask me. I'm going to give it another chance, but seeing as I'm totally not fond of death metal, I'm not sure how long I would hold out this time.

Seriously some the best BL vocals I've ever heard

This album still doesn't bore me after all these years, can't wait for the second opus that should be out soon.

I've been finding superb BM lately. Just discovered this band and I'm very much looking forward to their new album.

I wonder what happened to these guys. They announced plans for a new album back in 2015, but their social media accounts haven't had any activity since. Hopefully there aren't any serious issues, but it would be nice to get an update. This album is pure aural destruction and a follow-up would be perfectly fitting for this year...

The same thing happened to Amia Venera Landscape. In both cases, I am very sad that there won't be continuation of their work Such a talented people...

Yeah, a real shame that there won't be any new stuff from these guys by the looks of things...

This is still one of my all time favorite albums and one that I keep coming back to every now and then when I'm in the right mood. Such a dense, relentless yet beautiful sound all at once.

Damn, this album is wild...

I’ve had it on repeat all day. No idea what genre it is, but who cares, it’s giving me vibes of Benighted, Akhlys, and Altars Of Plague all at once. I’m loving how they worked some atmo-black into the mix, and the growls over those black metal riffs are straight-up fire.

For those interested, the fifth track has a creepy sample from Dead Man’s Letters, the Soviet movie about nuclear war aftermath. Eerie as hell and super depressing. It's in Russian, but the auto-translted subs seem to work fine
