Can't say any of these albums influenced me a lot. Except maybe Sabbath and Metallica. I was introduced to metal quite differently.
Cool to see you're getting into the extremer stuff though, that definitely also happened gradually for me.

Yeah, these are just the main albums that made me go: "Hmm, this is cool. I want to find more of this type."
Sort of 'gateway' albums/bands to those genres. I had Metallica and Slayer from Thrash Metal because of the fact that they are like two different faces of Thrash if it was a coin. Other is more extreme and raw, other is more polished/accessible to general music consumers.

I feel like I missed out on an in-joke here. Sandstorm summed up part of my music evolution so I'm going to go with yes.

It was like a meme thing. I don't know where it originated or why but I've seen it used a lot of times to respond to "what's the song" queries on youtube. I think it has kind of "old joke" status now.

Ah, internet-related humour. I'm still finding Doge things funny so I'm sure I'll get round to the Darude thing eventually.

just creep around youtube, you'll see it eventually. Someone actually got me once cause I didn't know what song it was. I was looking for a rap beat and ended up getting tricked pretty epiccly.

Pretty sure the Darude response pre-dates the "recent" flood on Youtube. I think it started on Twitch, for a League of Legends stream or something. And with all things, I'm sure it originated on 4chan.

I figured my list would be a home for Meme-filled discussion. My mind saw it coming, but I wasn't aware. I guess I*m the one to blame. :p

Interesting stuff - very varied.
A couple of those had massive influence on me (Ride The Lightning and Powerslave). I got into Slayer and more "extreme metal" via Reign In Blood and South of Heaven.
Yeah, I tried to include as many different types of bands as possible that really made me want to explore more of their kind of stuff along the way. (except maybe for first couple bands/albums since I was too young back then to even care much but they are still a bit meaningful for this list. )

Go ahead, it's cool to know which bands made other people interested in the music.
