Great news.
Amon Amarth has been on a good roll with previous two releases. Highly anticipated and will look forward to.

Fuck...
How can bands like these, make top quality albums, doing it in some little time?!
They're good in whay they do, but good ideas to make good songs these days, is a little rare (in so little time)!!!

No.
Oh wait, mixed reactions from traffic here. But for me both were good releases. Yes, Deceiver of Gods was bit meh but second half was fantastic and instantly made me realize they covered loopholes. Surtur was a fantastic release with moments where they left in Twilight.
I really don't know why people love Twilight of The Thunder and hate SR as latter was much powerful and hard-hitting(even artwork on SR was better) whereas Twilight was diluted version of Oden and try to print out the exact format of Oden.

People want to hear more of the same - it's Amon Amarth for crying out loud Sultur was piss compared to the two that came before it - it felt half-assed and lacked memorability in that respect.

Hopefully they do stay out of shows so they can focus on the album. The last two weren't terrible but lacked anything memorable, probably listened to each one 5 time where as Twilight and Odin can always be re listened to.

Quote: We have some ideas for songs and lyrics, but we haven't really sat down to put it together yet.
Let me guess, they're exactly the same ideas that they've had for the last 9 albums?
One of those ideas include: "Profit $$"

I really hope the album's theme will be scandinavian mythology and vikings. it would be so unique and awesome, right?

I had to go check this, because that didn't seem right. They only released Deceiver June of 2013, I don't get where you're getting 3 years from.
Also, I'm not holding my breath for this release. It will be the same thing. I'll listen to it, and I finally might get my lazy ass to one of their concerts, but I don't see it being anything other than passable.

No kidding here either. Got all Amon Amarth albums and I love most of them. With Deceiver of the Gods they even managed to bring in some fresh ideas so that I'm wondering if the next album will bring some more. Next year sounds very far tho :/

To be fair, Deceiver had some surprising moments for Amon Amarth...they took a good direction, but at the moment I'd still rather listen to the Oden and Twilight

Even tho both albums are the best rated among AA carreer, I like Surtur Rising and Deceiver of the Gods as much. Sure "Live for the kill" is one of my favourite.

I thought the last album was great so hopefully will definatley accept more of the same. with some bands it might become stale to do that but with Amon Amarth im happy with more of the same. Looking forward to this.

I did just the 2016-2013 apheresis... also IMO if you compare their latest album with "twillight" or "with oden", it sounds really average...

For me they managed to keep the quality in their recenr records. ''Twilight'' was great and so was ''Surtur''. ''Deceiver'' is a little step down, it sounds somewhat bland but still features good tunes. And I agree that the more-of-the-same proposal is the only way I can imagine this band, at least so far, maybe they surprise me one day...

I got on board with the band at Twilight album & have been impressed by each & every release since. A friend kept pushing me to listen to them & when I did i was immediately hooked. Their albums all have similar qualities however, with Deceiver of the Gods they stretched a bit more into the power/traditional metal territory than we are used to from this band. It wasn't a bad move since always I find great songs on all of their albums. Frankly I enjoy their latter output more than the earlier years. Great band & I don't want to fix what aint broke, I love their style, brutality, & melody.
