Playing on the board is the first DVD of the magic progressive combo from Sweden, Andromeda. Recorded at the magnificent Slaski Theatre of Katowice in 2006 during the Chimera tour, this DVD is a really nice product. Be sure that you'll have a look on this release because if you like Andromeda or simply great Progressive Metal, I can tell you that it will be a must for you.

"Playing Off The Board" was recorded at the great Slaski Theatre in Poland. This venue is simply perfect to record DVD because it's a real theatre and then, it's really beautiful and intimist too. That's right, it's not so easy for the crowd to move a lot in a theatre and the metalheads of this evening were a bit shy but it wasn't the case of Andromeda which performed a really good show. With a short set list (in number of titles but not in time) with new songs like "Periscope" or "In The End" like old ones like "The Words Unspoken", I can tell you that the essential hits of the combo are featured on this DVD. And when you know that Andromeda is a really good band on stage and that they did their maximum this evening, you can understand that it you'll be able to find a great performance on this DVD.

As always with the DVDs produced in Poland by Metal Mind, the images are great, it's really good with a lot of great technical means. You'll see a lot of different angles etc. It's classy as hell and well done and for sure while you'll be watching this concert, you'll probably understand why it's becoming a trend to record DVD in Poland. For the sound, that's the same, the recording is clean as hell and it's easy to hear the bands, the instruments but not the crowd which is definitely a bit too shy unfortunately. For the bonus, nothing really amazing but a lot of pictures some personal (funny) videos, some other live clips etc. It's the classics featuring of the Metal Mind production but really it's better and better after each productions so their DVD are more and more interesting in my opinion. It's a simple concert on a side but a great one and it's a good way to keep some souvenir of this nice tour. The fans will have to do something... I think that they should just try to find this DVD.

This DVD is a must for all the fans of Andromeda like all the ones who love great Progressive Metal. With more than 200 minutes of music and videos (with the bonus of course) with a nice presentation and some great means of production, I don't see why you wouldn't buy this release. Andromeda is a great band and this DVD is a proof if you're a bit doubtful. Highly recommended!
