Pretty dull. Patrick still has the knack for clever word play. Some of those old 40 Watt Sun/Warning) electric guitar tones make very brief appearances across the album. Otherwise, the album just drags on longer than it really should.

This one will be the departure between the generation(s) of listeners. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of James Taylor, as this is more in line with his music.

There is just no way I could listen to over an hour of this. Nothing keeps me even remotely interested

This is good way to describe it.
Its like you do hair cut and change ripped jeans n letters jacket to suit n tie. From metal bar to smooth jazz bar whit luxury drink and dress code. This could be good music for a jazz bar... Not metal, but still it has something to offer once, I doubt I ever will listen it again.

Listening right now, I'm close to the end, very enjoyable, very pleasant vocals. A couple of songs could have been a bit shorter, but still listenable.

Better than the previous album.

I'm a huge fan of bands like Low, Red House Painters, etc... but this album is more meandering than it is interesting.

This is not at all what I was expecting from this album. I was not expecting something mostly acoustic. Maybe if I was more familiar with the band's music I would have enjoyed this more.

ITT: metalhead first encounters slowcore.

I've seen AA Williams, Chelsea Wolfe, etc, described as slowcore, if they don't then this might be my first encounter with slowcore, but if they do, then my problem with this isn't that it's slowcore. The problem I have with this album is that nearly every song is over 8 minutes for no good reason; cut every track in half and it would be more listenable (although it doesn't help that I generally just don't care for his vocals, whether with 40WS or Warning - another band where the songs are way too long)

Yeah, this album is way too long for its total lack of variation. I usually enjoy that kind of acoustic stuff (is that what you call slowcore? Man, the sheer number of genre tags I've never heard of...), but here it's just not that interesting. Maybe if they trimmed it a bit and removed a good 20 minutes it would be a bit more captivating. As it is, it's just plodding on and I don't really see myself returning to it ever. I guess I'll stick to their previous two albums then.

Ruído Sonoro
Great lyrics, beautiful melodies, but damn, most songs cut in half would deliver the same message and it sound less tedious. Don't get me wrong, I love slow and stripped down, simple music, but this is way too repetitive at times. Still, the aforementioned lyrics, melodies and overall emotion of the album deserve a 7.
