Something about this album is really satisfying. It has a strong foundation of being somewhat standard DM *without* sounding like some major band's copycats, at least to me. And a random fun thing I noticed has to do with their songwriting. Notice how in a lot of these songs they nearly-repeat the same pattern usually 4 times, sometimes two. Someone could say that makes it repetitive, whilst I would argue that by doing this they put every (dissonantly) melodic section on a pedestal -- and those sections really are worth doing it because of how good they are. It's kind of like Maze of Sothoth had a real confidence in that their songwriting ideas were good, and were not afraid to 'milk them'.

I'd like to add that a lot of modern not-so-widely known DM bands often have that one slight nuisance, an annoying detail or gimmick. These guys don't have that, at least to my ear. I just never feel like pausing this.

So imminently visible - this cloaked innocent guilt
Sentenced to a lifetime, a second of structured chaos
Trampled by the ferocious, raging crowds of solitude
I'm the soil beneath me soaking up the sustenance of my own death.
