Don't be such a grinch

Not as cringe as it could have been thanks to the songs being reharmonized. The result is eerie and intriguing, and the experience is surprisingly nice. Although I won't be in the mood for too long I think

I don't understand the whole concept of mixing heavy metal with Christmas. Other than the humor aspect it's mostly just pointless and silly. Tarja especially could just use her operatic vocals and sing the Christmas stuff in churches and people would still flock in and pay sick money to see her. Back in the day she still used to do stuff like that with phenomenal success.

I guess some people just really love Christmas and it make sense to mix 2 things together that you love. Personally I think Halfords first Christmas album is really good, this one I'm not sure yet. I heard one song and it was ok, but it's too early for me to "get into the spirit"

Tarja voice save the day but I find this album quite boring. She took all the live out of the cover songs.

Well it's definitely corny as hell, but there are a few tracks that I can see fitting nicely onto an Xmas party playlist for metalheads, I think. Although most of these songs aren't my thing I simply can't deny her incredible vocal talent and exceptional performance, particularly on "Holy Night" and "White Christmas".

As much as I love Christmas music I can't really enjoy Tarja's vocals.

I mean, it's a christmas album. These are always cringe imo. Buuut, I think Tarja did some very creative things and really poured her own unique flavor of gothic symphonic metal into these classics, and created something new. For that she has my respect, even though I won't be listening to these songs ever again I don't think.
