First of all I must start by saying that during the music writing Nebularium wasn't yet a
"concept" album, but during the work we found that a linking line between the songs was still
existing, maybe not in the genre of every track (this is a very heterogeneous album) but in OUR
idea of them. So we started thinking for a concept that could keep toghether the lyrics, without
writing a single story in 8 chapters, also because we still didn't know theyr order in the final
version.
In this way was born the idea of this concept: one night full of dreams. The whole album is the
night, every song is a different dream, more one intro introducing the night and an outro
representing the awakening. This idea (we hope :-)) can be percepted first of all through the
booklet with the pictures of the girl sleeping, awaking in a strange world of passage and
finally ready (in the cover) to jump down in the world of dreams (and nightmares of course), to
jump "into Disarmonia Mundi"...

01. Into D.M.

this is nearly an instrumental intro that describes the feeling of being ready to jump down from
a cliff over the sea. You can hear the waves hurting the cliff and te wind flowing. The short
lyrics wants only to give the essential sensations of a cold wind and a calm mind, waiting for
the right moment to do a definitive step. Take care: This is NOT an invitation to the suicide as
someone thought, but an invitation to find the courage and to explore new sensations, new ways
of living. In this way begins this hard and long night...

02. Blue Lake
the song begins exactly with the description of a man just fallen from somewhere in a strange
dark lake. He can't manage to understand where he is and WHY he's there, then he remembers: he
was falling headlong down in a dark deep well, while his name was rebounding all around, from
the real world to the lake of his conscience. Now he's immersed in a sort of amniotic dark blue
liquid where his thinkings flow and his sensations swim. He can really see them passing near his
head, he can see the physical structure of his conscience, while his conscience is looking at
him with the same curiosity. Yeah, I know, that's a bit strange, but it was my idea to describe
those nervous and coloured dreams that we never remember the day after.. when we wake we just
remember the sensations and the colors, and that's exactly what I've written about. The man
flows up and down, from darkness to light, from happiness to sadness, from the cold liquid to a
warm water where he takes conscience of the dream and finally feels to be ready for the next
one...

03. Mechanichell
this fast thrashy song was perfect for the lyric we had in our minds since some months before.
In the beginning also the concept art of the album had to represent the idea of a mankind seen
as a mechanism, of the world as a clock. Then we changed idea, so we had the opportunity to put
a girl on the cover ^___^, but we didn't forget the original one. The dreaming man at this time
has the vision of a world working on and on always the same. In this world everyone is a little
wheel, an insignificant gear. The challenge this time is to understand that EVERY gear is
fondamental to the whole clock, and that anyone can decide to "grind reverse". Maybe he will be
grinded by the others, maybe not, but he fuckin' tried!! Also this time there's no reference to
a political idea (fight against the system?) but just an invitation to fight against what
everyone feels is importanto to fight. In this album we tried to give sensations, feelings and
colors from different points of view and not to suggest precise behaviours.

04. Guilty Claims
this song tells us about a vision that our dreamer has about a sort of science fiction
situation. All is seen through the eyes of an old man who has been exiled with his people for
many years on the dark side of the moon because of a war in which his party was, afterall, the
guilty one. We don't know exactly when and why it happened, but he's there. This man is dying
and knows that he will never come back on his mother earth, but he hopes a better future for his
people and reflects on his past, looking beyond the "black-white line" that divides the dark
side from the illuminated one, and those prisoners from freedom. The lyric doesn't tell the
ending of the story, but all is a metaphoric way to represent always the same idea of escaping
from the "prison" of habits. The metaphore of the black-white line as a target to go beyond is
also present in other lyrics of nebularium, as mechanichell.

05. Burning Cells
this headache-song gets the listener in a frenetic disco, whith flashes of light and loud beats,
and compares it to a sloughter house where people burn their neurones with every kind of drugs,
ready to be enslaved by a world of false promises. Also this time we didn't want to give a
political message against drugs, but against a way of living more interested in what society
asks to you (image, image, image!!) than in what you can give to society. Some people prefer to
erase themselves,... well that's what I think of course! This songs anyway jokes with the
listener, having itself an hard burning rhythm that destroys neurones AHAAAAAAAAAA!!!

06. Demiurgo
this time the dreamer flies through a world out of time and space, where he sees a god that
forges a man just to have a game to play with. Our protagonist reflects on the freedom of our
acts related to an omnipotent god. This time the creature revolts against his creator and the
dreamer assists to the fight for indipendence, until the god has to kill the creature who
decided his destiny: don't be born. This strange way of getting indipendent (from god, from
family, from habits, from love?) gives new awareness and new doubts (useful, ah? ^___^) to our
dreamer, ready to the last dream..

07.Nebularium
in the first sentence of this song stays the final awareness that our traveller has kept from
his long journey through himself: in this lyric there's the whole amount of the meanings of the
album. This is the disturbed, sweated dream that precedes the awakening, our man is tired by the
long way but when he looks back he knows to have new will and new instruments to live better and
he's conscious to have found them in the deep of himself!

08. Awakening
this instrumental track brings back in the real world, it's a sort of soft way to accept the
fact of being again awake, out of the d.m. =)
