01. True Angels
02. Blood And darkness
03. Game Over
Power Metal from Finland, this phrase is becoming very common lately, and I attribute this mostly to the success of excellent acts like Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica, but worry not my friends, ENTROPHIA may play Power Metal, and they hail from the land of the thousand lakes too, but they aren't copycats of the aftermentioned bands.
This is only a 3 song Demo, but this guys show talent here, but sadly, in a overcrowded scene as Power Metal, talent is not everything, you need fresh and new ideas, and sadly they don't do anything that hasn't been done before. Is that means that they suck? Absolutely no, this "Game Over" Demo is actually good, the songs are catchy and well-played. The opener "True Angels" is a mid-paced song, and that's always a good start, because every Power Metal band always starts with the fastest song on their entire album!
Other thing that caught my attention is the vocalist, he's not your average high-pitched screamer, his voice is very deep and somewhat dark, nice addition there. The other two songs dwell in the same grounds than the first one, but they fasten things up a notch.
Overall a good Demo, not great, not groundbreaking, just good, but the great thing about this one is that you know that this guys can push things further and make a really great full-length record, they just need more ideas! Hope to hear them in the future, best of lucks!
