Peruvian melodic Death Metal
Everybody knows Melodic Death Metal is a trend that initiated on Europe, Sweden to be more precise. Since then, countless bands have tried to achieve the success that the original Melodeath bands accomplished, but alas, the public is not dumb (or not entirely dumb in any case) they can notice when some formula is redone over and over again.
Us South Americans have witnessed the invasion of these so called Melodeath bands from a different perspective, because it was mainly a European trend, and while we count with some exponents of the genre, they're quite scarce.
And then I witnessed the invasion in my own soil, a Melodic Death Metal band coming from Peru, and while Heavy Metal is pretty global now, I don't recall hearing any Melodic Death band hailing from Peru.
While this sounds pretty good, you know exactly what to expect, is like watching the same movie over and over again, with the sole difference it was produced in your country this time. Crimson Death have a sound quite reminiscent of early albums of Dark Tranquillity, with melodic leads countered by some pretty good riffing, vocals are rough but not unintelligible, the album is pretty listenable if you ask me, but sadly nothing I haven't heard before.
This is the sophomore album of these guys, and the effort is valid, although some minor flaws in the production is quite enjoyable if you like Melodic Death Metal and your willing to listen yet another band of this common genre.
My advice to the band is exploration. Explore new influences to get rid of "hey, this sounds like Dark Tranquillity" reaction. Innovation is the key to success, although is not easy to achieve.
