Metal Storm 10th Anniversary Awards
Metal Storm 10th Anniversary Awards Many years ago a Metal-loving Russian dude decided to take a break from his time on the farm raising metal cows and opted to put his mad code skills to use and build a website devoted to metal cows. (Original title: MetalShitstorm.ee) He later then dropped the cow aspect and just focused on metal. His efforts attracted a cadre of metal heads from across Europe and the globe to join forces and pump out reviews and discussions dedicated to music. And sometimes cows, as our prolific French reviewer and longtime main POC Jeff and Ivan, are apparently brothers from another udder. 2004 saw this ragtag band of The official 10th running of the Metal Cows? er Metal Storm Awards, which opened on February 1st, 2014, saw us bulging with 21 genres, even after mashing several together. Carcass had almost 600 votes alone for Surgical Steel - which pretty much would have single-handedly smashed all the ballots cast in any category in our inaugural effort combined. So we've grown. In order to lead-in to the 2014 award, we thought we'd first look back and present you the option to help determine the best of the first 10 years. We've taken the winners you the readers picked and decided to pit them each against one another to determine the genre winners for the past decade. Have at it. \m/oo If you feel the need to comment please do so HERE Metal Storm Staff
