This is good one, new discovered band thanks to MA rip section. Band maybe looks like barbaric viking warriors, you know Conan, the real one, but its not viking metal as we know it today, its pure 80's HM.

In Memoriam Martjo Brongers

The most unbelievable thing has happened. Martjo Brongers, founder of Vortex is no longer with us.

A true fighter for the world of Heavy Metal music, inspirator for so many musicians and Heavy Metal fans, composer of so many beautiful and unforgettable songs, passed away on 18 December 2019 after a few days of struggle in the hospital.

Forty years ago, Martjo started a band with a couple of friends and it didn't take long, before the first recordings were sent out into the world.

Concerts, that so many of us still remember, were done all over The Netherlands and it was clear for many, that this band could grow bigger and bigger. And it did!

Martjo wanted to play everywhere and at all time. Even with a fever of 40◦ he was unstoppable and he and his band played on.
And so doing, the rest of the world, like Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain and even Brasil could do nothing other than admit, that 'here we are listening to an exceptional band'.

Martjo always took care that there was a glimpse of Vortex in all and everything, and he kept going on whatsoever.

After many years with all the ups-and-downs in his private life and with the band, with so many memorable gigs and performances, with some of the finest songs recorded, and unforgettable parties with lots of fun and laughter, people tend to believe that Martjo and his fellow Bat-friends could never ever stop doing their impressive things.

But now, dear friends and fans, who are in so big a grief, we shall have to admit that there are forces so strong, that even a life-loving and inspirational man as Martjo has to bow his head and make a full stop.

It is clear that we will always remember him ánd the things he said ánd the things he did, while playing songs or listening to music, or drinking our favorite drinks and toast to the long live Heavy Metal forever.

Martjo, you'll remain in the hearts of so many people, for ever and evermore! R.I.P.
