While on his way down to Georgia, the Devil was waylaid in North Carolina. He was found dead three days later, clutching a banjo and the shreds of an Æther Realm t-shirt.

Oof, that first single is rough. Way too poppy for my taste. Hope the rest of the album levels it out a little

I was worried when they released the 3 songs, however I'm glad they turned out to be the weakest songs on the album, the rest of it is really good!

sometimes its a bit too "soft"
it is a nice album, but somewhat disapointing considering how exceptional the previous two albums where

and IMHO "Craft and the Creator" feels too long

Sweet relief, I was worried with those 3 singles, but the albums kicks ass.

Weird album very hit or miss. Some songs are incredible while other ones make me physically cringe. At least they don't all sound the same and the solos are really good.

It's got a few questionable parts but otherwise it's a great album. Doesn't top Tarot though.

Some cringey lyrics and awkward pop-influenced elements that don't meld well with the sound at all. The choir chants and radio rock riffs really drag this down to the point of conjuring feelings of secondhand embarrassment. Probably the worst album I've listened to all year...

Took me some while but I have to say, this is an awesome album and especially so because of those 'pop-influenced elements' and 'radio rock riffs'. Guardian is as simple as it can be but it's a damn fine ballad with perfected melodies. As well as Goodbye is a nice synthwave twist to the usual melodeath content. As they say it in the interview, they can't quite sing about battles against ice and cold because they are from NC after all.

On the more traditional side of things, there is an absolute banger of a song called Hunger, it's better than anything Ensiferum released in years. TMHC and Slave To The Riff are great as well. Lots of usual stellar guitar work and now with those clever orchestrations by Ben Turk. Very good production also, pleases my ears after first two albums which sounded amateurish.

One or two good moments here and there. That's all with this album. As usual the lyrics are bad.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

It's like this band got tired of being mistaken as European and decided to embrace their southern American roots. Very hit or miss album for me. Personal favorite was Craft and the Creator.
