Talk about playing on hard mode, a Christian nu metal band? P.O.D. had an uphill battle out of the gate but against big odds they briefly became one of the biggest metal bands on the scene in 2001/2002 with Satellite. What prima facie sounds like an oddity twenty years later deserves revisiting, if only to understand how something as unique as this became so ubiquitous at the turn of the millennium.

Metal Rasputin
Yup, this thing was the shit in the early 2000's, if you happened to even remotely listen to more meanstream metal back then you knew these guys, Korn, Linkin Park and other big names. Youth of the Nation was the one massive hit that ruled the frigging world for a brief moment, it's still a great nu metal song. These days I couldn't even imagine anything like this making it to the mainstream. I remember my friend, who happened to be a huge black metal fan, always lost his shit when somebody played or even whistled these songs. Good memories.
