Well yuo actually can't blame Metallica for doing the same album over and over again

Unlike most people here, I don't care if it's dark or not or if it's menacing or brutal. Music is not about that and it shouldn't always be evil or melancholic to be good. I actually consider that to be stupid I mean who said evil and dreadful is cool and something the opposite is gay? if the music is good I rate it high. Load is not a crappy album, it has a lot of work in it (14 songs) but it's at most an average album. 6.5 is a good rating for it if you ask me. I'm not a big fan of Metallica although I have listened to their whole disco, I just pick a few songs from each album and actually non from their last 2. "Mama Said" is a good song, so is "Outlaw Torn" and "Bleeding Me" but that's it...

Europeans prefer their sterile overproduced pop garbage over music with groove and soul when it comes to commercial metal stuff.

I prefer the American (and British) approaches.

so you admit Brittan is not Europoe? When it comes to changes Europe has better possibilities, not Hollywood

Its a good album. While musically it might not be as strong but lyrically its in its best form. James Hetfield sounds genuinely depressed here.

In this year(s) of 2017 and around, i found Load and Reload are enjoyable to hear, studio version or live version..... good but true

The black album had the passable enter sandman, Reload had Fuel. This contains nothing of note worth, hundreds of bands playing hard rock on the radio sound way better than this. You know you truly suck when even a song about your mum is garbage.

Pretty friggin' underrated IMO. This actually has great songs on it, albeit some filler, but hey it's a Metallica album.

I feel dreadful and disastrous whenever I listened to this album..... because this album has always made me remorseful of the time that I was exhilarated listening to Metallica's classics like Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

The first half of the album (up until
bleeding Me) is GREAT and Outlaw Torn is killer but everything else is just filler than completely derails the album listening experience.

The problem with albums such as this and ReLoad, is when people review and judge it as if it was a thrash album. It´s not thrash.
But once you review the album for what it is, you realize that it´s not bad at all. It´s a really solid Rock album, with Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn being some of the greatest work Metallica has ever done. In my humble opinion that is.

Heh, Load and Reload will be dividing fans forever and it's sometimes fun, mostly annoying. Metallica was blamed for bad experiments on those two albums, but is exactly opposite. They were going back to the roots with Load and Reload, to find new ways in their music and also to pay tribute to their idols like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin or Thin Lizzy, which influenced them. Different style, different approach, different production, doing what you want no matter what. Problem of Load are fillers. 2x4, Poor Twisted Me, Thorn Within and Ronnie are not in line with other songs.

Why does this album score so low? Is it a bad arrangement? Is it poorly made? Does it sound bad? I don't think so, it's just because it's not thrash. Having said that, Metallica is very talented even in making rock albums. At least it's much better than the more "metal" but less interesting albums they are still making now.

"King Nothing" is fine, everything else - so boring...
