The single is so cringeworthy that I can’t imagine this album has a hope of being any good.

Folk metal? Lol.

This band is a walking gimmick. Least they played closely as ever is Alt metal.

The music is not too bad tbh, in parts anyway, but the rapping vocals are god awful! And this might be classed as folk, but it's certainly not the folk I'm used to listening to. Credit for trying something new and original I suppose, but it's just not to my taste at all

The rapping sections are pretty tacky, but pleasantly surprised by the rest of it.

Listening to it right now. It sure has a lot of energy and personality but where's the novelty? It looks like a mash of nu metal and metalcore. The so called folk metal is basically mixing "exotic" instruments, but we already heard other oriental bands doing this, so it's not that new. Aaj for example sounds totally like Linkin Park with flute. The rap sections are ok. Honestly, i don't see this band going anywhere after 2 albums. The musical formula is redundant and easily exhaustible. But who knows?

I would have enjoyed this more if their sound was closer to Kartikeya, as Indian lore is really interesting

For a debut album by an independent, self-produced band, "Rakshak" is a job well done and I am really enjoying it. The rap was annoying, but become tolerable after a few listens and in some songs ( "Aaj" , "Jee Veeray", "Gaddar") felt integral to the song's flow.

I feel their production could use some improvement - there is a lot going on all at once. The music is simply fun: very energetic ...workout / arena material and I think the band has the chops to pull it off in a live setting.

I like the addition of the flute and the Indian drums. In my book, they get extra points for bringing something new to my jaded metal ears and to counter (what I think) is a rather harsh judgement on these forums, thus far.

I wish Bloodywood all the best on their metal journey!

I would agree with the criticism towards the lyrics in the rap parts. Some lines made me laugh in ridiculous delight because of how cringy they were. But apart form that this is an awesome debut album that I want to listen to again and again! I love the verity of sounds they incorporate in this album and the melodies get stuck in your head so easily that I found myself humming them already after listening to the album for the first time!
The music also creates a lot if positive energy for me

Being from the same country, i've been following them for quite a long time and I was expecting a wonderful debut. Disappointed herr a lot. Bad production and Vocals made it worse for me. Couple of tracks seems ok but overall got tired after a couple of listens.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

I thought I would absolutely hate this album but turns out I totally love it. This combination of styles seems like it shouldn't work at all, but it's really damn fun.

Not really my type of thing but I can absolutely appreciate it's uniqueness and the high energy throughout the whole album. I'd recommend at least checking out a couple tracks to see if it fits your style.

Bloodywood is supremely fun. All the songs are bangers and no-one of the songs have a boring moment. I am guilty of watching too many reaction videos of these guys on YouTube, and that may bias my ratings a little, but I don't really care, these guys are too much fun.
