Strata is the debut release by newly formed New Zealand-based doom metal act Remina, featuring no other than the queen of gothic doom herself, Heike Langhans, former vocalist of the mighty Draconian. Working alongside the beautiful, ghostly presence of Heike is the talented multi-instrumentalist Mike Lamb of atmospheric black metal band Sojourner. Heike's voice is so otherworldly and cosmic. And since on this record it is coupled with some fairly dynamic songwriting and beautiful atmospheric soundscapes, the album is nothing short of spectacular. A cathartic journey to the nebulous reaches

This is where Heike likes her gothic vibes, gothic doom metal but different as Draconian. I like it, but how long project can be alive? So far 2 albums whit Draconian, here we'll we will see, but it's future. Now we can enjoy it s while

I could listen to Heike's voice all day long, it's mesmerising, it's beyond this world. The album itself though is good, but it lacks really memorable moments. It's beter to listen it as a whole.

I have no idea why they used new name. It's not so different from Light Field Reverie. Anyway, most of album's strengths come from Heike.

Remina is much darker, and explores the more doomy/darker aspects. And yeah, the strengths on the album are Heike, that was the intention  everything was created to exclusively be a platform for her vocals.

Last ISON was different but at least we all knew about the album. You belong to exploratory side of the scene so I doubt anyone will complain about style changes. Anyway, good luck to you and Heike on your journey.

From now on we're just sticking to these two projects because they'll give us the breadth we wanted, and they'll branch off in quite different directions.
