Vorna are a Finnish pagan folk metal band with meloblack tendencies, and for this past decade have been on a roll. Now, that should be enough to entice you.

Really looking forward to this. Sateet Palata Saavat is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Can't beat Sateet Palata Saavat but it's still really good. At first I didn't like the first single Hiljaisuus Ei Kestä but it really grew and turned out to be one of the best songs from the band. The intro reminds me of Primordial. I also like the title song at the end. I'm quite happy with this

It is very seldom that an album ends up so much below my expectations.. Ok I had very high expectations here, I loved the past two Vorna deeply, but damn.. What the heck is that ? It feels like a collection of ballads. And don't get me wrong, ballads can be good, but a Vorna album should have 1 or 2, not be entirely composed of them..

For some reason the drummer spends a lot of time messing with his toms instead of using the kick as usual, I'd estimate the singer spends 1/2 of the album using clean vocals, and there again, he has a good clean voice, but it is too present in this album. There are very few moments trying to reach the peaks of their previous albums, and even when they do, it's slightly off..

Overall I feel we're so far away from the epic, intense and emotional albums Vorna made in the past, and I'm not even sure this qualifies as melodic black metal anymore, this felt more like a Gothic Doom album with a Pagan vibe to me, but that's only because I'm trying hard to label it, I don't really know what to make of that album in reality. Maybe Gothic Doom with a Pagan vibe could be a thing for them though, they just didn't manage to create any real emotion for me in this one. I was bored from the middle of track two until the end.

Sorry Vorna, I try to avoid criticising mucic online because I know it's all subjective and I don't see the point in shitting on other's art, but the only band that ever let me down so bad is Insomnium..

Exactly my thoughts, I'm getting "Heathen Tribes" vibes.

The melody of this album is a bit difficult to get used to you, but the ones that set in your ears are hard to shake off. For example songs like kallioilla and aamunkoi.

Good melancholic album, good melodies, clean vocals are a bit weird sometimes. All in all good package
