Is it similar to any "well known" band?

I'm not the best person to ask, I've not kept up-to-date with black metal.
It is just black metal with a ton of atmosphere, but it isn't the slow-boring-ambient kind of atmosphere, it's the good kind.

Is it similar to any "well known" band?

Anorexia Nervosa, Borknagar, Emperor, Summoning...

But this album is a world of its own. I only heard of it yesterday while listening to black metal nominees' MySpace pages, but this album is outstanding. I can't decide between this, All Shall Fall, or Vreid's Milorg. Highly recommended.
