This album is almost flawless. Almost. Carmilla's Masque and nocturnal supremacy are filler material to me,but the rest of the album is solid\m/

Worst vocals ever, too much symphonic elements, guitars buried under synthesizers... Couldn't listen to it after the fifth track. I hope their following album are better, specially the vocalist.

His vocals are pretty much all the same. If you don't like them here, then it's very slim you will ever like them. Dani's vocals are the deciding factor for everybody, you either LOVE them or DESPISE them.

Check out their first album The Principle of Evil Made Flesh. Danni's vocal stay is more aggressive and raspy than on this one. (Btw is this how you comment on a previous comment?)

Doesn't seem so. Unless you deliberately wanted to ommit who posted the comment you're quoting, which I don't think is the case.

Instead, just click on the quote button on the upper right of the post you wish to quote, then the post dialog box will appear with the code already set.
It should look like

I would say best CoF album IMO

Jesus Christ I hate his higher pitched vocals so much. Other than that, this album is alright.

Their best album is Cruelty And The Beast if you ask me... This one is retty good too but I completely understand the hate on the vocals. I learned to just go past them once I focus on the great riffs, kind of like with Silencer haha.

Wow these vocals make me want to steering into oncoming traffic. Ick.

More melodious and atmospheric than the first album. Waaay better production and engineering this time and better keyboard parts are available.
But it is just an only-good album and nothing near to a masterpiece or epic record. Filth screams more on this and Barker drums are brutal.The best feature in this album are maybe backing vocals of Sarah Jezebel Deva which are really something.

Wish it was an instrumental album.

I'll never understand how people could have an issue with the vocals cause they're easily the best part of the album. They complement the music and gothic, vampyre-esque theme really well. Love it when he hits those high shrieks as well.

I don't have any real issues with the vocals either, this was one of Dani's best overall vocal performancs imo. This album is absolutely fantastic! There's so many great songs on here, lyrically it's beautiful, it has a haunting atmosphere, and the title track is amazing, easily one of their best tracks imo. I would call this their best album, slightly ahead of Cruelty And The Beast
