Decent stuff. I like the orchestral / circus-esque bits a lot but the vocals range from slightly annoying to patently retarded, and the song construction often veers into L'ordure à l'état pur-levels of incoherence. All in all I'm having more fun with the new Way To End that I am this but this certainly has its moments, though primarily when they're not playing metal.

Beatutiful, amazing, wonderful, uncanny.
Words are not enough to express how much I've enjoyed this album.
"Nom d'une Pipe" will be for sure one of my "top ten" albums of this year without any doubt.

This album is not easy to get into, as much as the previous works, but it can be a rewarding experience. I could compare Pensées Nocturnes with A Forest Of Stars, but, while Englishmen play black metal with avant-garde music layered above it, this French musical entity takes all its influences and puts them into one big melting pot. Whether you will find it to your liking or not is just a matter of your taste.

Looking for bands similar to A Forest of Stars I stumbled upon this. Actually I've heard about them zillions of times before but never really took the time to check.
It's decent, to say the least. But also seems a bit that the avant-garde is "too forced" into the music, I don't know...
For now it's a 7, but I'll hear it more carefully later.

As a fan of avant-garde metal I found this simply not worth the effort , unlistenable even. yeah it's weird , and sadly not much else can be said about its qualities.

It's a decent listen, but it sounds like they're trying too hard to sound weird. Sometimes the vocals sounded like Homer singing in the shower. Some parts sounded brilliant though. But I won't be coming back to it.
The French seem to be quite fond of their marching bands and 19th century popular orchestras nowadays, once could almost call it trendy to incorporate such elements in music. EZ3kiel does it much better, even if they evolve in a totally different style.

This one sounded very laidback compared to the chaos they bring in their latter albums. Maybe that's why I like it more than it's succesors
