As a band seemingly at the brink of defeat and dissolution, Evergrey have returned with surprising resolve on their latest record, and, with themes of revolution in mind, Hymns For The Broken resounds with renewed inspiration and restored integrity.

Evergrey has a trademark sound, so I don't think that will change. Apart from the usual traits of their music, I think they rediscovered their progressive side with this album and that somehow makes it more appealing. Songs like "Archaic Rage", "The Grand Collapse" (probably their best song in a long time) and "The Aftermath" for instance.

Very pleased with this album. If you don't try to compare it to their masterpieces from Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy up to The Inner Circle, it think it's easy to appreciate it.

The formula is the same that the last albums, but this time it's better in freshness and songwriting.
Probably the best Evergrey album in 10 years.

I actually love their previous album, but this, oh god, the perfect Dark/Atmospheric/Progressive album with the main line-up is their best in the last decade. very impressive \m/

It seems I'm a minority here, because I didn't like this album as much as Glorious Collision (I'm not even speaking of classic Evergrey records). Don't get me wrong - it's a good album. It's just that after listening to it none of the songs stays in my head. I haven't developed any kind of emotional connection to the album, which was nearly always the case with the other band's works.

Was a pretty good album. First I've heard from Evergrey. King Of Errors is my favourite track.
