Releasing a metal album the same day as Metallica is brave. Releasing a thrash metal album the same day as Metallica is crazy.

I feel like it is stuck and I'd rather spin their older stuff.

Overkill has influenced barrages of modern thrash bands yet none have ever come close to overcoming Overkill music.

So, have fun.

You say that like I shat on the influence they had on the overall thrash scene. Which I didn't. Or like I don't know who they are lol. It's just that I don't need anymore "Overkill by the number" I've got more than enough of that already with their previous material and it is far superior.

As for having fun, I'm having tons of that. As far as I'm concerned there's many more entertaining or experimenting bands out there. I couldn't care less what folks want from Overkill, I'm just saying that this release is ok, not bad, not memorable. I just know that I'm not gonna listen to this in a year from now and I'd much rather spin the latest Exmortus, Pest Control, Chronicle or Remission when it comes to thrash in 2023.

Again this is all subjective. Even though I respect the band greatly, that won't influence my enjoyment of their music.
