John's musical career began as the singer and co-writer for the critically acclaimed metal band Annihilator. John Bates and Jeff Waters co-wrote on four albums (including songs such as Alison Hell, Welcome to Your Death, I Am In Command, King of the Kill & Remains) but John left the band before the release of their debut album Alice in Hell.
