Biography
TRAGIC BLACK is a five-piece band from Salt Lake City founded in October 2000 and is amongst the most active and dedicated modern Deathrock bands. They make an interesting style of music by mixing elements of old school goth, glam rock, new wave, deathrock, post-punk, industrial and electro, who attract fans from all over the music spectrum.
While the current line up is somewhat new, the founding members Vision and Vyle have released various self-released CD's since their inception in 2000. Then they released "The Decadent Requiem" in February 2006, "The Cold Caress" in August 2007, both on Strobelight Records and have numerous compilation & magazine appearances worldwide.
Every Tragic Black CD has its own unique sound. Each release is related to a different element. Their debut album "The Decadent Requiem" was related to the element of Fire. Their 2nd album "The Cold Caress" was released August 17th 2007 on Strobelight Records, was a concept album related to the Water element based on vISION's book (in The Cold Caress). They now have "The Dead Fall" 7" Vinyl Record coming out very soon with Catastrophe Ballet Records and are currently working on their next Full-Length album.
You can find Tragic Black CD's all over the Earth, in any Country with Strobelight Records based out of Austria and Germany who release and distribute music worldwide and Shadowplay Records in Russia, their music is out there.
In November 2007, Tragic Black set out on a European Tour in countries including; Germany, Austria, Belgium, Norway, soon after performed for the second time at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig Germany and played Mexico City in April 2008.
Tragic Black has performed with such artists as; All Gone Dead, Android Lust, Adrian H & the Wounds, Ausgang, Bella Morte, Bloody Dead and Sexy, The Brides, Carphax Files, Cinema Strange, Clit 45, Combichrist, David J, The Deep Eynde, Dirty Weather Project, Dismantled, Domiana, Element, Endless Struggle, Frankenstein, Götterdämmerung, Human Drama, Imperative Reaction, Kill Hannah, The Last Dance, London After Midnight, New Days Delay, Nitzer Ebb, Penis Flytrap, Pins & Needles, Radio Scarlet, Redemption(bound), Scarlets Remains, Shadow Reichenstein, Slick Idiot, Stolen Babies, Super Heroines, System Syn, Victim Effect, Voltaire and many others.
Now they are working on new music, planning more gigs all over the Earth and feeling ready to rock.
'The Dead Fall' 7" Record, released by Catastrophe Ballet Records is Tragic Black's Air Element release and comes after 'The Cold Caress,' their previous Full-Length water element album released in 2007.
This is both the only Tragic Black release featuring original material by Jesse James, (who is no longer in the band) and first release to feature the return of Stich since he recorded 'The Sixx Premonitions' back in 2004.
'The Dead Fall' & 'Caught in the Noose' lyrics express the struggles the band has gone through over the last 9 + years to get to where they are now. While they have toured in Europe, Mexico US, performed at the Wave Gotik Treffen Festival in Leipzig Germany twice, went through multiple line up changes, released 'The Decadent Requiem' & 'The Cold Caress' with Strobelight Records, they are proud of what they've done so far, but have made it clear that's not enough for them.
Tragic Black is now writing & recording their next Full-Length album and feeling more inspired than ever before. Even the lyrics from 'The Dead Fall' reflect the current state the band, "We have gone a long way, but we still got a long way to go." The end has not come for Tragic Black, their vision is only just beginning to be seen.
