My Enchantment were founded in 1999 under the name Near Death Experience, as a Black Metal band. In 2000, and due to changes in the musical orientation of the band, its name is changed to My Enchantment. Soon after, the band assumes a more melodic and symphonic approach, yet keeping their roots in the Metal genre.

After several lineup changes, stability is achieved in late 2003. The lineup is maintained until late 2011, after the release of the band's first album "sINpHONIC" in 2006, later on participation in several important Portuguese band contests and playing major shows in Portugal, sharing the stage with bands like Sepultura, Obituary, Pestilence, Angra, Blind Guardian, hED(pe) among many others.

Following more changes in the line-up, My Enchantment returned to the stage in 2013 and later in that year recorded "The Death of Silence" EP, marking the beginning of a new era that revealed the trilogy of albums based on Dante's Divine Comedy.

Released in 2024, "Illuminare" is the album that concludes this trilogy, leaving all possibilities open for the band's future.
