Temples Festival 2016 - First Batch Of Bands Announced

A few days ago, UK's Temples Festival has announced the first batch of bands that will perform in Bristol next year for the annual fest. As usual, you can expect a number of much anticipated exclusives, reformations - and of course, a diverse selection of artists within the spectrums of underground heavy music. With three main-stage headliners still to be announced, some of the acts already confirmed are Esoteric, Urfaust, Mgła, Gnaw Their Tongues, Dragged Into Sunlight and All Pigs Must Die. Paradise Lost - To Play 'Gothic' In Full At Roadburn 2016

The first names that will perform at Roadburn 2016 have been announced. Fans of Paradise Lost rejoice because the band will headline Roadburn Festival 2016 on the 14th of April 2016 playing their influential second album, Gothic, in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The band will play their masterpiece from start to finish, alongside tracks from their latest album, The Plague Within. But there is more to be expected as Cathedral's Lee Dorrian will curate Roadburn 2016 with his Rituals Of The Blind Dead Parts 1 & 2 and futhermore, Roadburn 2016 will host Neurosis' 30th anniversary celebrations.

Nile - Announce US Tour In 2016

The reigning kings of technical, historically-themed brutality, Nile have announced a momentous 31-date trek across the States in 2016. The tour launches in Tampa, Florida on January 8th, hits New York, West Hollywood, Pittsburgh, and wraps up at a very special hometown show in Greensville, South Carolina on February 12th. The band will be touring in support of their upcoming eighth full-length studio album, What Should Not Be Unearthed, scheduled to be released on August 28th via Nuclear Blast Records. Wacken Open Air 2016 - First Bands Announced

The Wacken festival this year has come to an end and, as usual, the organizers now start presenting the first bands for the next Wacken Open Air. The biggest names confirmed out of the 17 acts from several genres so far include Blind Guardian, Ministry, Borknagar, and Therion. More names will follow in the next weeks and months, with the metal feast happening from 4th-6th August 2016.

Avantasia - New Album And Tour In 2016

As it turns out, fans of Avantasia won't have to wait that long for the follow-up to The Mystery Of Time. In fact, in January 2016, Avantasia are going to release the sequel to The Mystery Of Time. The next chapter of the saga will be called Ghostlights. After an Edguy album last year, Tobias Sammet has been keeping himself busy. In March, the all-star ensemble will kick off the Ghostlights world tour, and the tickets are on presale now. Who's excited about the new album?

16 - Enter The Studio

California sludge trailblazers 16 have commenced recording the follow-up to their latest album, 2012's Deep Cuts From Dark Clouds. For the as-yet-untitled new album, the band is once again reunited with producer/engineer Jeff Forrest. Ferry and vocalist Cris Jerue are also joined by drummer Dion Thurman of San Diego noise rockers Creedle, and bassist Barney Firks (Sylvia Juncosa). Potential song titles include "Pastor In A Coma," "George," "Peaches, Cream, And Placenta" and "Secrets Of The Curmudgeon."

70000 Tons Of Metal 2016 - Announce First Bands And Destination

After five consecutive SOLD OUT events, the organizers are gearing up for Round 6 of 70000 Tons Of Metal. The self-proclaimed "World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise" will sail on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale near Miami, FL and will not return to the real world until Monday, February 8, 2016.

Blastfest 2016 - Announce Next Wave Of Bands

Norway's Blastfest made a special announcement a few months back that it will be celebrating its national metal scene by boasting a 100% Norwegian lineup and having already announced acts such as Abbath, Green Carnation, Ihsahn, Ancient and Gorgoroth, the festival has now announced another wave of bands that will be appearing at the festival in February 2016.

Meshuggah - Plan To Record New Album In 2016

Meshuggah haven't said much about a new album until now. Koloss, their latest record, was released back in 2012. Since then, the band has released an EP and a DVD and also commemorated the 25th anniversary of the recording of their first EP. According to a recent interview of guitarist Mårten Hagström, the plan is to record the upcoming album next year. The band should focus exclusively on writing new material after August.

Nightwish - 2016 N. American Tour Announced

Nightwish just finished a North American tour recently in support of Endless Forms Most Beautiful but there are already plans to come back! The symphonic metallers have announced a 26-date headlining tour of North America for 2016, launching in Sayreville, New Jersey on February 19th, hitting six Canadian cities plus Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Orleans, then closing out in Tampa, Florida on March 23rd. Opening for the tour will be Dutch symphonic metallers Delain.

Rotting Christ - Begin Recording New Album, Due In 2016

According to Rotting Christ's Facebook page, the band has entered the studio to begin the recordings for a new album. The album is scheduled for release in "early 2016". This means that the follow-up to Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy is coming at last. All you have to do now is wait a little bit longer and start anticipating new music from the Greek melodic black metallers.

Blastfest 2016 - First Four Bands Announced

The first four bands have been announced for Blastfest 2016! First off, Ancient. Veterans in the game, and about to release their first album in 11 years! Next year will also be the 20th anniversary of The Cainian Chronicle, so you might hear some classics. Then we have Green Carnation, who are going to play their Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness masterpiece in its entirety! Third announcement is Ihsahn, who will bring a more progressive touch to the festival and lastly, Red Harvest, who recently reunited.
