Marduk - In The Studio, Releasing New Album In January
Marduk fans have something to be excited about! While you had to wait a few years for the follow-up to Serpent Sermon, the good news is that the Swedish black metal band is working on their next album. Marduk are in the studio at the moment to record their new album called Frontschwein which is planned to be released in January 2015 through Century Media Records. And that is all we know so far but you can mark your calendars and start anticipating it.

Gwydion - Going On Indefinite Hiatus
It's a sad day for Gwydion fans. The Portuguese folk metallers have decided to "take an indefinite leave of absence." Their last album Veteran, which was nominated for Best Folk / Pagan / Viking Metal Album on Metal Storm Awards 2013, could well be their swansong. The band started back in 1995 and released three albums in total. They could disband in the future but for now, it's just a break.

Cradle Of Filth - To Enter Studio In November
Cradle Of Filth, who are about to head off to the wilds of Russia for an extensive tour crusade throughout October (see dates below), confirm November 24th as the date they will be entering the studio to start recording their new album, with a release date tentatively etched for the beginning of June 2015, and raw working title of Hammer Of The Witches.

Tank - Entering The Studio In November
British heavy metal veterans Tank are currently writing and rehearsing material for the follow-up to their 2012 album, War Nation. The band is scheduled to enter the studio in November to begin recording the new record for a tentative early February release. Joining guitarists Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans on the new album will be former DragonForce frontman ZP Theart, who has been a member of Tank's touring lineup for the past two years. And also new recruits Bobby Schottkowski, formerly of Sodom, on drums, and current Blind Guardian member Barend Courbois on bass.

Aldious - Drummer Announces Retirement
Aruto, the drummer of all-woman power metallers Aldious, has announced she'll be retiring from all musical activity this November. In a statement on the band's website, she explains that her forthcoming marriage will see her move away from Tokyo, where Aldious are currently based, and has therefore decided to withdraw from the band so as not to disrupt their activities.

Korpiklaani - In The Studio

Slayer - Back In The Studio
The thrash legends Slayer are back in the studio to record the 11th album of their career. World Painted Blood, their latest output, came out already five years ago. Tentatively set for release in early 2015, this new record will be the first since guitarist Jeff Hanneman's passing and since drummer Paul Bostaph rejoined after Dave Lombardo was kicked off the band. Ensiferum - Enter The Studio In September
Finnish folk metallers Ensiferum are hitting the studio next month to record their upcoming album that follows Unsung Heroes. With pre-production out of the way, the band is prepared to begin recording. Work will begin on September 8th at Astia Studio in Lappeenranta, Finland with producer Anssi Kippo. Minsk - In The Studio Recording New Album
While fans were pleased to hear Minsk's [url= http://www.metalstorm.net/events/news_comments.php?news_id=19439]hiatus ended last year[/url], they will be even more pleased to know that the post-metal band has entered the studio to begin work on their new full-length record and first in over 5 years. After a two-year hiatus, "the band has been reinvigorated and has written their most ambitious material to date." The album is being recorded at Earth Analog studios outside of Champaign, Illinois throughout July/August and produced by long-time collaborator Sanford Parker. The as-of-yet untitled album will see an early 2015 release via Relapse Records.

Nightrage - New Label, Enter The Studio In September
Recently, Nightrage have signed an album deal with Despotz Records. Yes, the melodic death metal band will finally release the follow-up to Insidious (2011). In fact, the group is entering the Dugout Studio (in Uppsala, Sweden) with Daniel Bergstrand on September 15th to record the new opus. A new single/video will be out this fall and the yet untitled album will surface in February 2015. Ronnie Nyman will lend his voice to the new release.
