Nightrage - Working On New Album
Sweden's Nightrage have issued the following update:
"As you know, we are currently writing songs for our forthcoming album. It has now been confirmed that these songs will be recorded, produced, and mixed by our old friend Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, In Flames) at Studio Fredman.
We are more than happy to work with Fredrik again, the man that helped us so much on the first two albums, "Sweet Vengeance" and "Descent Into Chaos". We feel that his help will be the return to form we've been searching for. We are coming back to the guy with the magical sound, and we can't wait to start recording and later share this music with you our fans.
The studio has moved once again very close to the downtown in Gothenburg. We will enter the studio in February 23 and we won't leave until March 13! That's a lot of time for Antony [Hämäläinen, vocals] to eat a lot of Turkish Pizza!!!!! Marios [Iliopoulos, guitar] will cook his nice Greek dishes, Olof [Mörck, guitar] will do his laundry, Anders [Hammer, bass] and Jo [Johan Nunez, drums] will fight for who is recording first!
Also we can let you know that another brother of ours, Gus G. [Firewind, ex-Nightrage] will be making a guest appearance on the new album as well. So expect some crazy three way soloing from the Nightrage guitar team! Lots of crazy riffs and ethereal melodies done the Nightrage way."
Nightrage's new album, "Wearing a Martyr's Crown", will be released in June 2009 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "The Failure of All Human Emotions", "Among Wolves", "Opposite in Black", "Abandon", "Shed the Blood", "Wearing a Martyr's Crown" and "Mocking Modesty".

Nightrage - Drummer Leaves, Band Seeks New Guitarist & Drummer
The band have posted on their webiste that they are looking for a new Guitar player as well as a Drummer. This Implies that they have parted ways with their former drummer - Fotis Benardo. Marios' post, taken from the website:
"Nightrage is officially looking for a drummer and a lead/rhythm guitarist that they would be able to play the NR songs in no time and they will manage to rehearse very often with the band. We want guys that they are dedicated musicians and focus to be in the band for real. We want musicians from Sweden so that makes things easier for everybody.
I hope you guys understand that we don´t have any problems with drummers and guitarists from abroad it´s just that we want to be a rehearsing band again. If you think that you have what it takes send a presentation, photo and a taste mp3/video of your drum/guitar playing at: marili@nightrage.com."

Comments Lifeforce president Stefan Luedicke: "I'm very happy about the signing of Nightrage, a band I've been a fan of since their first release "Sweet Vengeance" on Century Media, but I'm sure their Lifeforce Records debut will easily kill their previous releases."
Marios Ilipoulos, guitarist/songwriter, speaking on behalf of Nightrage: "We are proud about the signing with Lifeforce Records, this is really exciting for us and we feel that we will continue deliver our craft through a really nice partner like Lifeforce Records, who are into the music we are doing and together we can achieve really great things."

Nightrage - Guitarist Gus G. Leaves The Band
Guitarist Gus G. decided to leave the band, the following statement from him is posted on Nightrage webiste:
"Hello friends!
Hope this message finds you all well. After long discussions with Marios we both decided that it"s best for me to stop playing with Nightrage.
The reason behind this decision is that I simply don"t have enough time these days to write, rehearse and tour with the band, whenever they decide to do so.
I"ve felt bad that I couldn"t tour 100% with Nightrage and only played selected shows. Nightrage IS an active band and needs its members to be there 100%.
The new line-up is killer and everyone gets along. I don"t wanna be the weak link. On the other hand, I need to give my own band (Firewind) full attention as well.
So from now on, we go separate ways. However, we decided to do one last show together @ Inferno festival in Oslo, Norway on April 13th. So, I"d be very happy
to see as many of you as possible that day, as I"ll descent into chaos one last time with my Nightrage brothers!
Marios, Henric, Fotis and Jimmie: I had a blast playing and making music with you, love ya!
Special thanx to all the crazy metalheads that supported and keep supporting NR!
Stay Metal,
Gus G."
The band is looking for replacements, people interested in the position should send an email to marili@nightrage.com .
