Destruction - Brand U.K. Booking Agent 'An Insult To True Metal Fans'

German thrash gods Destruction have released the following statement after the recent tour of the U.K. and Ireland.

"All three bands really want to thank all of the fans who turned out to support us on our recent Tour of the UK., but we also wish with hindsight, to apologise to some of you that you had to see us in circumstances that were not ideal, at some venues which sometimes should not have even been included on the schedule. This is solely down to the work undertaken by the booking agent we opted to use, Jon Knight of HAGP Music and we would like to draw the attention of all other bands and the fans to this person because we are most disappointed that charlatans like this continue to be in positions of power in the industry we all love - that of Metal!"

Destruction frontman Schmier adds - "After 24 years of playing Metal on a professional level, working with this Concert agency was the worst and most unprofessional experience we've ever had in Europe! I wanna thank all the faithful fans that made this tour a success. Our loyal crew & our brothers in Onslaught and Amenti who suffered the same circumstances as well, (Sorry mates!!) but, we all really deserve better than this HAGP Music guy, surely?! No catering on most of the gigs, no posters & advertisement for the shows and the technical rider, which we did send to the UK several months ago, all just seemed to have evaporated or been ignored!"

"Some of this tour was an insult to METAL! A bloody fuckin´ shame, but because the fans had waited so fuckin´ long, we did not want to disappoint any of you. I really hope that the of the lack of professional equipment at some of the venues will not harm any of the bands in the future or take away from the fact that we know many of you supported us to the hilt on this tour. WE found solutions to go on and did not lose a single show on this chaotic horror trip! The replacement gig (Nottingham, Old Angel) for the cancelled show (in Liverpool) came with local assistance and from within the touring family, not from HAGP Music, who then decided also to stop talking to our management and ignoring our email requests for assistance?"

Realistically, several shows on this tour should never have been booked in the first place. HAGP Music didn't care about contracts, venues, the fans, the bands, not even his local guys who were making the best of it sometimes. To have shows announced as being cancelled without our knowledge, to not have the right equipment or have even researched the venues at all etc., caused dreadful tumult to everyone on the tour and required us ourselves to go on to Metal Forums telling people that the gigs would go ahead. How unprofessional is that? Without the long held experience of our combined band and crew and the great support shown by the Onslaught and Amenti blokes, this tour wouldn't have survived! I publicly thank every single one!"

Metal Storm Is Moving

Hello all!

As you've noticed over a past month we've been down a couple times. Since we've been on a shared hosting service we haven't had much to say on the matter and... well the server that has been hosting the site has simply chickened out on us on those times. Hence we've bought ourselves our own server and we'll be upgrading our Internet connection as well, as the current one is obviously lacking for some of you out there outside Estonia.

As of this news item no further news will be posted until the move is completed. Some time during tomorrow we'll turn Metal Storm into a read-only mode and you will all be forced to logout. You'll be able to browse but you won't be able to post, edit, rate, etc. On the top a corresponding message will appear. When we have switched over, it will take a bit of time for DNS records to adjust for the whole world. Once the message on the top disappears and you can log in again, you'll know that you've reached the new location.

Some problems may surface, so bear with us until those are resolved.

Cheers,
Ivor & Staff on the road to world domination

Vicious Rumors - Vocalist Leaves Again But Band Is Not Breaking Up

US Power Metallers Vicious Rumors have posted the following press release on their official website:

"Vicious Rumors would like to thank all the fans and friends who supported the band over the last year on the World War Tour. We had a great time with everyone at all the shows in the USA, Europe & Japan. As the Warball tour ends the band is now in pre production for a new studio CD to be released next year.

Even tho the band has gone through many changes over the years VR has maintained a solid force in US power metal over the last 25 years. VR has already written several new songs for the new CD to follow up "Warball". Due to artistic differences singer James Rivera is no longer in VR. James was let go after the European tour in Sept '07. Recently James Rivera has issued a statement saying VR was Broken up after his departure with a list of other personal problems. We understand that Helstar is his true love and passion and wish them all the best.

VR moves forward to next year with a new CD and a new lineup. After 25 years, 12 Cd's & countless tours in no way has Vicious Rumors split up. You cant kill rock n roll..

Look for VR on tour with a new CD in 2008."

Suidakra - Band Update

The following was posted on Suidakra's official site:

"It's been quite a while since you guys last got an update on the actions of SuidAkrA, but don't be fooled into thinking they've taken a well earned holiday!! The forthcoming DVD & Best Of CD package has been keeping them busy and it's paid off -- apart from the final layout, everything's finished. The content of the DVD has changed since it was first announced -- it will now feature SuidAkrA's Wacken 2007 show, instead of Wacken 2006. Expect an early 2008 release for this fine package; more info about the exact date and tracklisting will follow soon and, of course, will appear here first.

The first tourdates for 2008 have been confirmed, hopefully there's something near you! 2008 will probably not see as much live action from SuidAkrA as 2007 did, because attention is beginning to turn to the next album! They have just started working on some new songs which will eventually form their next (multi-platinum selling) record

Autumn is the season for change and moving on, so the band would like to wish all the best to Marcel who has decided to take a step back from all band activities in order to concentrate fully on his job. A new live guitar player has already been recruited and will play the forthcoming shows."

Finally, a few words from SuidAkrA themselves: "We have the chance to play in the United States in 2008! Unfortunately, it costs a shitload of money for flights and whatnot to make this happen... So if anyone can help "sponsor" us at all, we would absolutely appreciate it! We know we have a lot of fans in the US and it's long overdue for us to make our first appearance over there. Please do not seek direct contact from us about this, as we cannot give out any information yet, nor are we involved in the sponsorship. Instead, please contact Alina Michelle by either sending her an email to support@suidakra.com or a message via her mySpace page with the subject line of SUIDAKRA SPONSORSHIP, as she will manage all offers of help. Please understand that she cannot give out any information about dates or events unless it is to people who really can consider helping out... We hope to meet you next year! Thanks for any help!"

Siebenbürgen - Band Is Back Together

The following update was posted on Siebenbürgen MySpace page by Marcus Ehlin:

"Greetings fellow metal heads and all other dark creatures that follow our path!

I'm glad to inform you all that Siebenbürgen has risen from the grave and are back with full force, with a new upcoming album in 2008.

Mr Bryngelsson and me have resurrected the band, though in a different shape and a different form, but still under the same black flag that Siebenbürgen proudly hails under.

New members follows our course: Dennis Ekdahl on drums and Johnnie Gunther on keyboard. We are still trying out for lead guitar. Richard Bryngelsson is of course still handling the guitar and I the vocals, but this time I have mantled the bass as well.

The music is in the same vein as before: dark and atmospheric metal.

A new start, a new beginning and a new chapter in the glorious history of Siebenbürgen.

We hope to see you all on tour soon! STAY METAL!!!"
