Septic Flesh - Finalize New Album

The following update was posted on Season Of Mist's website:

"Followers of the dreamlord rejoice. The time is approaching for "Communion". The Greek demons Septicflesh (now in one word) are back with a new album on Season of Mist, containing 9 gates to unearthly dreams and nightmares. The "rituals" of "Communion" took place in the famous Studio Fredman in Sweden. The massive heavy guitar sound of the album is supported by a haunting triumphant orchestration that surpasses every past attempt of the band on that field. The classical arrangements are composed and directed by Chris Antoniou (guitarist) and performed by the 80 part full orchestra and 32 part choir of philharmonic orchestra of Prague. As a result the music besides being brutal is also very "visual", like the soundtrack of an occult movie projected straight to your mind. Concerning the vocals, Seth is growling as a hellish beast in contrast with the melodic, yet intense and emotive vocals of Sotiris V. This album is definitely the more dark, brutal and at the same time avant-garde release of the band to date, crossing the borders of Death and Black metal. Yes, this album is not recommended to people resonating with holy ideals and bright emotions.

On March 17th, 2008 and March 25th, 2008 in the US the gates will open for the public and you will have the chance to join "Communion" and experience the emotions that come from songs like "Lovecraft's Death", "Anubis", "Babel's Gate", "Persepolis".

Until then, keep the dark flame burning and enjoy the pleasures of the flesh..."

Unanimated - Reunited And Working On New Material

Swedish Melodic Death Metal band Unanimated have reunited, ot only for a few gigs, they're recording new songs as stated on their offical MySpace:

"Since the last couple of years, the founding members Richard and Jojje, have been in the works of reuniting the band again. But due to the members involvements in other bands such as Dismember, Entombed, Dark Funeral, Murder Squad, Merciless, Face Down, Krux and Nifelheim, ups and downs in personal life, Richard relocated to Texas and prison sentences...(you name it!), finding the right time has been difficult.

Currently the band are working on new material and planing possible live performances in 2008. Four brand new songs are in the works. Titels like "Nemissis/Retaliation", "Vacuum-Draining Cosmos" and "In The Light Of Darkness" are some of the new songs that are made. Musically the band will continue where they left off. Metal Fucking Metal! Be prepared...The Firestorm is coming! AVE LUCIFER!"

The line up is as follows:

Richard Daemon - Bass
Jojje Bohlin - Guitars
Peter Stjärnvind - Drums
Micke Jansson - Vocals

Tvangeste - Update From The Band

The following update concerning the new album has been posted on the band's website:

"Okay... here is the latest news from Tvangeste camp.
We cannot really say they are good but anyway - no news is the worst thing for it means death. At the same time bad news signify that we are still alive....sorry for such a long introduction folks.

As it was scheduled on May 2007 we were sitting in Europe recording metal parts of the new material. All guitars and basses were recorded so Tvangeste was heading to Sweden to record solo guitars, voices, to make mixdown. We applied for Swedish visas (it's visitors visa - we are still Russian citizens so we need visas in order to visit any other countries). Right up to the end of our studio time in Poland we got a negative answer from Swedish Consulate. I do not know why - they didn't provide us with any reasons of rejecting our applications. In fact they are not ought to. So this unexpected problem fucked up a whole recording schedule! We tried to find a solution but in vain.

we are really sorry for the inconvenience. We know that we've been keeping you waiting for so long and it makes the situation even worse. As we have already mentioned: a whole recording schedule was broken and hence album release date is not certain for now. Sure thing - it will happen sooner or later. We have booked studio time again but this time in Canada.

NOTE!!!! If you would like to get your money back - no problem just let us know and You will get your pre-ordering money refunded immediately."

Testament - Prosthetic Records Will Reissue Two Albums

Prosthetic Records is proud to announce reissues from Bay Area metal legends Testament. Both to feature new liner notes, 1997's "Demonic" was remastered and 1999's "The Gathering" will include the previously only available in Japan, "Hammer Of The Gods." Both will see a worldwide release through the label on Jan. 8, 2008. Previously released through Spitfire Records and currently out of print, both records are a welcome addition to the Prosthetic Records catalog.

Currently gearing up for the release of a new studio record featuring all new music via Nuclear Blast, Testament's line-up for "Demonic" included Gene Hoglan (Death, Strapping Young Lad), while "The Gathering" featured metal legends James Murphy (Death, Obituary), Steve DiGiorgio (Death, Iced Earth, Sadus), and Dave Lombardo (Slayer).

Comments Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler: "Testament is far and away one of the most influential bands in all of modern metal. While other veteran acts soak up much of the spotlight with sing a-longs, Testament maintains the unsurpassed musicianship, integrity and brutality that continues to create an untouchable legacy."

More praise for Testament: Joel Stroesl (Killswitch Engage): "Testament has been one of my favorite bands for many years...they have always helped define aggression and musicianship. They are one of the few bands that have kicked ass throughout their entire career. "Demonic" and "The Gathering" not only kept with the times in the metal world...but set new standards."

Silenoz (Dimmu Borgir): "The Gathering was a sledgehammer to the face when it came out and still is to this day! Sheer rawness and power combined with catchy, groovy patterns and monstrous thrash riffs proves Testament as one of the most influential metal bands ever to grace planet earth. I sum this album up in one word: authority!"

Dez Fafara (Devildriver): "The Gathering is equal to "Back In Black" by AC/DC in its song writing and song sequence. For some, its either Metallica or Testament; for me it's Testament. "Demonic" is the deadliest, dirtiest, crushing record, where they truly found their heavier and darker side."

Bolt Thrower - Vote BT On Wacken Open Air 2008

UK Death Metal steamrollers Bolt Thrower have posted the following message:

"As most of you probably know, Bolt Thrower don't like to play festivals, but as a lot of you want to see us playing festivals, we try and play at least one festival a year. After receiving numerous offers, we now have to choose which festival to play next Summer, and would like you to help us decide.

As BT are not financially driven, the fee is pretty irrelevant, as is whether we play to 1000 people or 100,000. Our main requirement would be to have our usual merchandise / meet and greet booth, with no price restrictions.

Wacken Open Air festival have asked us again to play next Summer, and the date would fit in with the gap in our planned recording and mixing schedule for next year. A lot of you have asked us to play Wacken over the years, and a lot of you have advised us not to play it, for various reasons.

So now, we would like you to help us decide by taking part in the following poll.

Poll: Would you like to see Bolt Thrower play the Wacken Open Air festival?

We'd really like to hear your opinions, so please vote... "

In celebration of the release of their latest album yesterday (6 November), Impaled have offered the following advice:

"It's D Day? Death Day. Celebrate this day in the history of Thanatology with the latest Impaled record "The Last Gasp".

Some celebration ideas?
01. Gather your friends and listen to the new record together
02. Start a public mosh pit
03. Buy a second copy to keep sealed like a Star Wars figure
04. If your local store doesn't have the record, ask 'em why then spit on the manager
05. Buy yourself a present from the Impaled Shop
06. Walk around with an Rxxx written in ash on your forehead
07. When someone scores in soccer, scream "GORE!!!"
08. Listen to all your Impaled records in order at top volume till your ears bleed
09. Drink 15 Rockstars until you get heart palpitations
10. Bake a cake and mail it to Impaled

Now if all that doesn't sound like fun, you've got problems.

If you're unlucky enough to be working today or stuck in school and can't get the new record, fret not... it's streaming in its entirety at mp3.com. That's right... you can waste the bandwidth of your lousy job and listen to the new Impaled record until you're crazy with bloodlust. Check it out here: http://www.mp3.com/artist/impaled."

Sirenia - Part Ways With Vocalist

According to Sirenia's official website:

"Due to musical disagreements singer Monika Pedersen and Sirenia has decided to part ways, here is Monika's statement:

"After much consideration I have chosen to leave Sirenia, but I will continue with music. The reason is, that we have too many musical differences, and I don't feel like it's the right band for me. I have had a great time in the band, lots of good experiences and only wish the best for the band in the future. I want to send a big "Thank You" to all the fans for your support - you haven't heard the last of me!"

As a result of these circumstances Sirenia will have to pull out of the planned European tour with Therion. The show in Athens will be postponed until may 2008. You have our apologies for this, Sirenia will be back on the road next year. We will use the coming months to find a new singer, as well as composing music for our next album."
