Shadows Fall - Announce Hiatus From Future Extensive Touring
Some disappointing news for Shadows Fall fans, but probably not entirely unexpected. They have announced that they have decided to take a hiatus from "future extensive touring." The band has given many reasons for their decision for taking a break from the road, but before their hiatus, Shadows Fall will embark on a European string of dates along with their "final" North American tour.

Darkest Hour - New Album Release Date Announced
Washington D.C. metallers Darkest Hour have announced that they will release their new album on August 5th via Sumerian Records. The album was recorded at Oceanic Recording with producer Taylor Larson. This is the band's eighth studio album and their first with new bassist Aaron Deal (ex-Salome) and new drummer Travis Orbin, and it will be their first album for Sumerian Records. Megadeth - Boots Newsted From Soundwave Sideshows
Soundwave Touring have confirmed that at the request of Megadeth, Newsted will not be performing at the Melbourne and Sydney sidewaves. Every year, bands are recruited to tour throughout Australia for the Soundwave Festival. Many bands take the opportunity to play extra 'Sidewave' shows while they're traveling around the country, but Jason Newsted's solo band has been booted from two Megadeth side shows "at the request" of the band.

Iced Earth - Returning To Australia
American heavy metal band Iced Earth will be returning to Australia next March with one show in New Zealand as well as part of their Plagues Of Babylon world tour. The band's brand new album Plagues Of Babylon will be available in January next year. Joining Iced Earth on tour will be Melbourne thrash metallers Elm Street, who will play songs from their debut album Barbed Wire Metal.

Dark Tranquillity - Touring Australia In 2014
Dark Tranquillity will be returning to Australia next March for a tour, it will be their first time back since 2006. Alice In Chains have premiered not one but two new videos simultaneously from their new album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Go big or go home, they say. The first video, for the song "Voices", shows a series of neon signs lighting up various locations around their home-town of Seattle while the second video for the title track "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" shows what happens when a lesson about the devil and dinosaurs goes horribly wrong on the classic TV show, Uncle Sal and Pals.
