Nightwish - Tarja Responds To Her Dismissal

Tarja has written a letter to the 'Tarja Turunen Fan' website outlining her feelings on her former bandmates decision to fire her. While not an official statement, the former frontwoman had the following to say:

"I don't have words to express my feelings at the moment. I am devastated. This thing happened in a way that I didn't have a slight chance to give my opinion about it. I got fired out of a band that represents the last 9 years of my life and I am very sad about it. It has been very cruel the way the band handled this in public. This doesn't change the fact that we were doing amazing music together, but I will never forget the fact that they didn't give me the chance to say good bye for the people as a Nightwish singer."

Speaking to Finnish broadcaster YLE, Tarja has stated that she will be holding a press conference in November to give her side of the story on her departure from Nightwish. She also told the network "I'm really upset. The way in which this was brought up publicly is cruel and sad. It wasn't enough that the letter talked about me, but the way in which my husband was also dragged into it is shocking.

To be continued in November...

Orphanage - The Band Has Disbanded

Orphanage is no more...

Through this message we want to bring you the news that the heavy metal band Orphanage has stopped.

From recent internal discussions it appeared that there was too much irritation and a lack of mutual trust, to be able to make a new Orphanage product, by the high quality standards that the band has been known for throughout the years.

An end has come to 11 years of "Innovative Gregorian Celtic Groovy Melodic Doom Death Metal". We've had a great time. A lot of special moments are in our hearts forever. We were there, YOU were there.

Please send the news to all that have supported us in all these years, in what form whatsoever. Doesn't matter if you read this for the 100th time, just be sure that we ?

. . . want to thank YOU ALL!!!

No Orphanage without you; everyone that visited our concerts, that listened to our music, those who have worked for us, worked together with us, those who have shared the ENERGY with us . . . . forever: THANKS !!!

Motörhead - 30th Anniversary Expanded Releases

Motörhead: 30th Anniversary Deluxe Expanded Editions
Available November 11th through Sanctuary Records

Classic Motörhead Albums Receive Special Treatment With Bonus Tracks, Re-Mastering And Extensive Liner Notes

30 years ago, a man called "Lemmy" created something ugly, loud and legendary. That something was Motörhead.

In celebration of three decades of one of the most underrated, influential, and downright noisy bands to ever walk the face of the planet, Sanctuary Records presents commemorative, 30th anniversary editions of some of Motörhead's most important and memorable albums, as well as a collection of BBC archive recordings and vintage performances from the 70s and 80s. Overkill, Bomber, Ace Of Spades, Iron Fist and No Remorse have all been faithfully restored and enhanced for the momentous occasion.

Debuting in 1976 after Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister was unceremoniously ejected from the space-rock band Hwawkwind, Motörhead was certainly something "different". "Different" in a good way, of course. The band invented a musical genre known, appropriately enough, as "speed metal". Fast, crude, in-your-face and abrasive as hell, there had never been anything else quite like Motörhead.

With the release of Overkill in 1979, Motörhead introduced the lineup that would create some of the most important hard music albums ever written: Lemmy on bass and grinding vocal duties, "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar and "Philthy" Phil Taylor on drums. It seems only fitting that the first album to feature this legendary unit should receive the deluxe edition treatment. Such memorable tracks as "Overkill", "Stay Clean", "Damage Case" and "Tear Ya Down" are given a high-profile presentation, while a second disc of bonus tracks, including b-sides and BBC radio performances makes this release worth having.

Bomber, Motörhead's second 1979 release and the album made famous by the unique "bomber" shaped lighting rig that highlighted the accompanying tour, features such awesome songs as "Bomber" and "Stone Dead Forever", as well as a bonus disc featuring b-sides, alternate versions of album tracks, and the "Golden Years" EP.

1980's Ace Of Spades again features fully re-mastered takes of the entire original album, including the seminal title track, perhaps Motörhead's most well-known anthem, as well as multiple alternate versions of many of the album's standout tracks and BBC radio session outtakes.

Venom - Ultimate Venom Box Set

The Ultimate Venom Box Set, MMV

Available November 8th Through Sanctuary Records

Many bands have seemingly made a deal with the devil to mark their place in the annals of heavy metal history, but Venom was perhaps the first to outwardly flaunt such a pact and easily among the most influential. With their 1981 debut album "Welcome To Hell" and the ominous chant of, "Evil? In league with Satan!," Venom declared war on the status quo, spit in the face of the very notion of common decency, and set the pace for what was to come in the world of extreme music. The British trio of alcohol-fueled, evil-minded wild men created a legacy unlike any other, coining the phrase "black metal" and influencing such juggernauts as Slayer and Metallica. Indeed, the very image of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon, as well as the pentagrams and inverted crosses that adorned their album covers, helped bring an image and an attitude to heavy metal that is still poignant to this day. MMV is a long overdue, four disc testament to the legacy of Venom.

MMV is a trek into the past, featuring demos, outtakes, rarities, a radio interview and alternative versions of songs. Such impactful Venom classics as "Black Metal", "In League With Satan", "Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil)", "Welcome To Hell", "Bloodlust" and "Acid Queen" are all represented in fully re-mastered form. Also included is a full disc of material from the Assault album series. Re-mastered and assembled by Cronos himself, the four disc collection comes packaged in a 6"x12" box, emblazoned with Venom's distinct logo and baphomet design. The box set includes a 60 page booklet and collector's poster. MMV's release comes at a very appropriate time: 2005 marks the 25th anniversary of Venom's storied career. Any metal enthusiast should make room in their collection for this audio-history of a band that changed the face of metal forever.

Emperor - Reunion To Play Live Shows In 2006!

It's official, EMPEROR have reunited to play some exclusive shows. The band is confirmed to headline the Inferno Festival and Wacken Open air 2006!!!

The band reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's 15-year anniversary, which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller Sept. 30. 2005. The band took the scene by surprise, performed three tracks ? "The Loss And Curse Of Reverence", "I Am The Black Wizards", "Inno A Satana" ? and received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Announced as a "big surprise band," the whole arrangement was so secret that neither organizers of the magazine's anniversary party nor the band itself told their closest friends and associates. Anyone that feels they missed out, fear not, next year is when the big events take place. The surprise gig was merely a cool way to "drop the bomb" and create even bigger anticipation for the upcoming shows.

More news will evidently come later...

Mägo De Oz - The Recording Goes On!

The recording goes on!

Good news for all the Mago De Oz fans! The recording of their new album has been resumed. As the stop has only lasted a few days, it seems that the date of release and promotion of Gaia II: La Voz Dormida remain as they were fixed.

This announcement comes with more news due to the fact that we have known new details. First of all, the song Diabulus In Musica will not be the first but the second single. We'll remind you of the fact that this song belongs to the Gothic Metal wave, it has anti-clerical lyrics and it features Patricia, vocalist of the band Nexx. Instead, the first single from Gaia II: La Voz Dormida to be played in radio tunes will be La Posada de los Muertos. As far as we know by now, it is a composition next to the Molinos de Viento style.

More news: We are aware of new songtitles. These are Aquealarre, En Nombre de Dios, Desde mi Cielo, El Callejón del Infierno and Íncubos y Súcubos. As you can see, all these songs will have a dark atmosphere and they are all related with the Church. The band said some time ago that their purpose was to denounce all the atrocities committed by this institution.

In addition, the classic intro which opens Mago De Oz releases will be very close to the Gaia one. It will be featured by a symphonic orchestra... and no less than 21 guitars! It shall be entitled Volaverunt Opus 666, and it was composed by Txus in the middle of a moment of inspiration. Indeed, it was registered by him in his mobile phone while he was inside a taxi.

Although the whole band was concerned about composition in Gaia, this time about 85% of the work has been done by the drummer. Thus, the FinisTerra spirit is back.

Continuing with Txus' actuality, we should touch two aspects which are not related with Gaia II: La Voz Dormida. First of all, the shop "La Boutique del Diablo" will open next October in Calle Luna, in association with Underword. There, the new textile enterprise owned by Txus, "Satania", will send its clothes. They will be Gothic and sleazy clothes. Second, José Semprún, film director ("Peor Imposible", ...) has asked Txus for the soundtrack of his next film. This one will be formed by unrelesaed compositions by Txus and several Mago De Oz cuts.

Grenouer - Fire Destroyed The Studio Of The Band

On the 23rd September 2005, as a result of a fire at the Grenouer make shift rehearsal studio, the band lost all their instruments and equipment. As the band was simply subletting this space in the Vereteno factory in St. Petersburg they cannot expect any financial compensation from the factory owners, let alone an apology. The fire started as a consequence of an unqualified welder (twat!!!) who was carrying some work in the nearby area. At the moment the factory management is doing everything possible to cover these facts up and create a new version of events in order to avoid hefty penalties. You can see all the pictures taken at the scene after the fire on the official Grenouer forum at:

http://forums.disenteria.ru/index.php's=&act=ST&f=34&t=6970&st=50
http://forums.disenteria.ru/index.php's=&act=ST&f=34&t=6970&st=75
http://forums.disenteria.ru/index.php's=&act=ST&f=34&t=6970&st=100&#entry490030

All of the bands equipment either perished in the fire or became totally unusable due water damage from the firemen's attempts to put the fire out. This unfortunate event took place right at the peak of Grenouer's preparation for the recording of their fifth full length album when the dates for the recording sessions had already been booked at the ASTIA studio in Finland.

IND (Vocals): "This situation is quite dramatic because the fire has been a set back to many of our plans, however we're not going to give up! On the contrary, we must get through this and at the very least partially realise our plans. Of course we're gonna start by getting new instruments, amps and all other necessary devices and if someone feels like giving us a helping hand they can always get in touch with us by email, however, our enemies will now have reason to celebrate. As a result of this incident, I believe that the subject of fire and destruction will now find a place in our writing.
Anyway, it's too early to write Grenouer off yet!!!"

You're all welcome to support the band. Even a little message help a lot in such situation...

PERSUADER add bonus to "The Hunter"
To some of you this band might only be known as the winner of the 2003 Young Metal Gods Award or two of the boys in SAVAGE CIRCUS. But five years ago they recorded their stunning debut "The Hunter" which made those who listened wanna sign the band immediately. Of all possible partners a very small label ended up being the lucky one, released the debut in France with a few copies - and dissolved in bancrupcy. Now you can finally see the light of this rough diamond. To make it even more valuable without polishing away the energy, we added the songs "Escape" and "Cursed" from the even earlier "Visions and dreams" demo as a bonus.
