Flowing Tears - New Album Details

German female-fronted gothic metallers Flowing Tears have set "Thy Kingdom Gone" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in October via Ascendance Records.
It will be a concept album containing 12 songs.

Posted by the band on their MySpace site:

''It has probably become the darkest and most intense one we ever did. We are really excited about how this one turned out and can't wait for you to listen to it!
I think we really managed to capture the essence of what Flowing Tears is about: there is tons of really heavy melancholic guitar stuff, tons of atmospheres, and probably the most personal and dedicated lyrics we have ever written.

Somehow the album pretty much breathes the spirit of albums like "Joy parade" or "Jade" in terms of atmosphere and density, even though it..s much heavier. And even though the album feels very homogenous, it is probably our most varied one. There is a lot to discover...you'll be surprised. Expect an intense one. No party music, not meant to have a good time with definitely.

Moreover we are excited to announce that the artwork for the album will be done by Seth Siro Anton, whom some of you might know from the great work he did for Moonspell, Soilwork or Paradise Lost lately.

A release is currently scheduled for October. There is no definite release date yet, but as soon as we have it, we will post it here, along with a complete tracklist and more detailed information.

Atheist - Writing New Material

Atheist has been writing new material as of late, notable because the group hasn't released a studio album since 1993. Here's a statement from frontman Kelly Shaefer:

"You asked for it, the first new Atheist material in 15 years has risen to the surface and it was truly amazing, much better than we could have expected! We ended up with a bit over 3 minutes of truly Atheist, brutal, fast as hell, technical metal madness!

...we also intend on celebrating the 20th anniversary of Piece Of Time release with a bunch of shows in 2009 in Europe and the USA live DVD and now a brand new set of Atheist's metal puzzles for your confusing enjoyment of course. We will keep you posted on all of the details as they happen. Hold on to your brains fuckers!"

Further information about the new Atheist album can be seen here.

The Rotted - Bassist Quits The Band

The Rotted have announced the following statement:

"The Rotted are to part company with bassist Wilson. New priorities in his personal life have made it apparent that he'll no longer be able to commit 100% to the upcoming plans and fast-moving future of the band, therefore he's taken the decision to step down as bass guitarist.

Says Wilson, 'It is with some sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Rotted. I've been with these guys through thick and thin for over 6 years, and had some of the best times of my life! When we reformed as The Rotted, the process was simple, that everyone would be firing on all cylinders in the same direction - I always said if my other commitments in life would hinder this, then I would step down for the greater good, and it is clear that this time has come! My last show with the guys will be at the Wacken festival - we play on the Wet stage on the Friday afternoon, so come down and raise a horn with me! I'm incredibly satisfied of what I have achieved with the guys, and the release of Get Dead Or Die Trying and the Wacken fest is finishing on a real high, what more could anyone ask for?

The Rotted will continue full steam ahead with 'business as usual' and they will announce a new bass player after Wacken Festival."

Satyricon - Upcoming Album Update

Norwegian metellars Satyricon have issued the following update::

''The last week and a half has been very eventful, recording vocals, brass with people from the the Broadcasting orchestra and the philharmonic, last night we had a choir called Grex Vocalis in the studio and we did a big photo shoot last weekend with tame wolves and lynx's (that were not tame) at some sort of reservate up in the mountains here in Norway. Very fascinating and powerful! We also went to some locations which represent the country's dramatic nature in a great way.

This week we're finishing the final recordings and preparing the album for mix. Saturday we play Kaltenbach Open Air in Austria and Monday we fly back to L.A to mix the record with Joe Barresi and do mastering with Brian Gardner.

Euro tour is currently being lined up for mid November till late December these days and we're coming to back to America for the first time since 04 in January and February as direct support for COF.

On the next update, the album title will be revealed. Take care.''

Glenn Danzig had this to say: "I'm very happy to have Dimmu Borgir sharing the stage this time, as they are one of my favorite bands and I always wanted them on. Should be an incredible 20th anniversary tour."

Dimmu Borgir founding member/guitarist Silenoz checked in with the following: "Let there be no secrecy around the fact that we're really looking forward to the Blackest of The Black tour, finally joining forces with Danzig! To get the chance to share the stage with one of the most influential icons in metal and rock history, Glenn Danzig, is of course something we're very proud of!
