These guys should start headlining their own tours already... All the support is there, and concert halls WILL be filled.

This isn't the first time promoters are underestimating US metal fans and their demands, opting for a safe tour package instead of offering some long-awaited surprise.

The success of Paganfest tour sure did prove them wrong, where the popularity of folk metal within US was concerned... It's about time they learned the same is true when it comes to black metal. Sure, sending Dimmu Borgir or COF to the States is always a safe bet and a guaranteed cash draw, but doing something creative with the bands that aren't as mainstream would pay off too. Execs underestimate how well-informed the fans are within the scene, and comparatively lesser-known black metal bands (such as Satyricon) would still draw a good crowd. Come to think of it, Satyricon headlined a tour at the end of 2004, and they weren't supporting a new album at the time. How much more sense it would make to do a headlining tour now instead of being reduced again to a support act for a band whose fans aren't even into Satyricon's music much.

I'm glad to hear about the new album, but why, oh why, are they touring with Cradle of Filth? COF doesn't deserve to wipe Satyricon's ass. I agree with wolfheart, Satyricon could be selling out shows with ease at this point in their career.
