The Dillinger Escape Plan - Enter The Studio

The Dillinger Escape Plan have entered the studio to begin work on their brand new, full-length album.

The Dillinger Escape Plan are teamed with long-time engineer Steve Evetts at Omen Room Studios in Los Angeles, CA to begin tracking songs. The band will remain in LA through July to complete work on the record. The drum tracks were recorded at Sonikwire Studios by Gil Sharone (Stolen Babies, Puscifer). A Fall '07 release date is expected via Relapse Records.

The Dillinger Escape Plan have posted a number of video teasers leading up to their time in the studio, including snip-its of the writing process, their high-speed cross-country travels to the studio, and a Sopranos'-esque montage, that all can be viewed at this location.

Diablo Swing Orchestra - Working On New Material

Diablo Swing Orchestra have posted the following update on the band's MySpace page:

"Hi there, here are some news what's happening in the world of d:s:o:

We have about 7-8 new songs in various stages of completion and we are really happy with how the songs are sounding so far.
It's always hard to say how they will turn out in the end but so far they can be described as more "detailed" in lack of a better word. All the ingrediences from the first album will still be present and some new ones such as gospel, tango and russian folk music will also make an apperance. Furthermore the arrangements will be more thought-through and we're writing with a clearer idea how we can go about in the studio to make it as awesome as possible. We also feel as the cello has really found it's place through the more well-crafted arrangements and is really allowed to shine, so everybody can expect some really cool cello riffs.;) This time around we'll also have the chance to play some of the songs live before we go into the studio and get them onto tape.

We only have rough working titles for 2 of the songs yet and they are "The vodka inferno" and "Stratosphere serenade".

The plan is to start recording some demos in September - Oktober. When the actual recording sessions will start for the next record is not yet determined but we're hoping for somewhere around april-may 2008.

And even though it's risky to announce anything before it's 100% we'll stick our neck out and say that chances are good that d:s:o will cause some mayhem in Germany in September. More news on this and other gigs soon. The only confirmed gig for now is Progpower UK 3 on the 29th of March 2008.

The album was released as planned in Russia through MALS and the CIT states on the 26th of June and the feedback seems to be good so far, we'll post any reviews and such when we have them. Other than that we are eagerly awaiting the European re-release of the album on the 13th of August through Candlelight. We have been getting quite a lot of emails asking where to buy the album that we have to turn down or direct to US online shops since we right now are all sold out of the first print.

We would also like to say a big thank you to everybody who sends messages, emails, letters and shows their support in general. We have been overwhelmed by how well the first record has been recieved and we are working hard as hell so you will not be dissapointed by our second effort.

"Dear Midnattsols,

It's been very long time since we could announce something really sure about doing a new record. We are just about to write our sixth, seventh and eighth song. 5 are (let's say 99%) finished already.

We plan to enter the studio in the midst of November and finish with mixing and mastering in December.

In the meantime we're discussing possible album-titles, cover- and layout-artworks and so on. At the moment everybody's very busy!

Hope you will like our new stuff!

Take care!

Arch Enemy - New Album Info And Tour Dates

As posted in the Arch Enemy news section:

"Arch Enemy are pleased to announce they have completed work on their highly anticipated new album. The new masterpiece entitled "Rise Of The Tyrant" was recorded at Studio Fredman with Producer Fredrik Nordström and will be unleashed on the metal world on September 24th, 2007.

Arch Enemy mastermind Michael Amott comments on the new album and the upcoming touring activities as follows:

"To all Arch Enemy fans!

So how does it sound, you ask? Well, I am of the opinion that we have made the 'ultimate Arch Enemy album'!!! To me, this album sounds like the perfect mix of melody and brutality. This album is a an organic and honest statement from the band - it's pure f**king metal at its absolute best, the Arch Enemy way!

Producer Fredrik Nordström did a killer mix on the record - the sound is big and intense! This album has everything that Arch Enemy represents in my mind. I can't wait to release it and play these songs live for you, the fans!"

Actually, we have to start rehearsing at some point this summer? We will be playing a couple of festivals in the U.K. ('Bloodstock') and Germany ('Up From The Ground'). These will be the first shows with my brother Christopher (Amott - Guitar) back in the band! We also have to work out how to play these new songs so we will have a very busy summer with Arch Enemy, that's for certain!

The touring plan for Arch Enemy will start full on after the summer, and we can confirm we will joining the European "Black Crusade" tour package with Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce and Shadows Fall - yeah, that's a pretty impressive tour, huh? Equally exciting for us is the Australian "Black Crusade" tour which we will be doing with Trivium and Machine Head.

Lot's of other cool touring ideas are flying around at the moment - looks like we also might be visiting places on this planet where Arch Enemy has not yet had the pleasure of playing?????. That's what it's all about!

Let the madness begin?"

Rise Of The Tyrant tracklisting:
01. Blood On Your Hands
02. The Last Enemy
03. I Will Live Again
04. In This Shallow Grave
05. Revolution Begins
06. Rise Of The Tyrant

Metallysee - Offer Statement Regarding European Tour Cancellations

Metallysee Booking Agency, the long-running Belgian company which was recently blamed for a string of European tour cancellations by such bands as Finntroll, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter (Earthshaker Roadshock Tour), Marduk, Enslaved (The Excess Of Evil Tour) and Unleashed (Midvinterblot Tour II) ? has released the following statement to Blabbermouth.net:

"For all of those that have been writing in with their hate mail, let me take a moment now to explain the recent mishaps that have been happening at my company, Metallysee Booking Agency.

"First of all, my name is Johan De Mesmaeker and I am one of the owners of Metallysee. I have had this company for more than 22 years, and during that time I have put many bands on tour in Europe. Many who have gone on to become bigger acts and many that have gone on to other booking agencies.

"During the past year, I had to take a leave from running the day-to-day operations of my company due to personal reasons and in my place was my (former) employee named Henk Mol (of Vain Productions). Together with my business partner Gina, Henk was responsible for putting the tours together and making sure that things functioned as they should. Well, as we know now, things didn't happen exactly this way.

"With my sister not knowing anything about the business (or the bands), Henk was pretty much in control of everything. In the case of the Earthshaker Roadshock tour, he, and HE ALONE, made the cost of this tour so high that it was impossible to continue that tour. Some bands were contracted to be paid more than they should have, while other bands were contracted to be paid when in fact they should have been paying us tour support. The same was the case with the Marduk tour.

"In order to keep my company alive, I had no choice but to cancel these tours to avoid myself going into bankruptcy and to be able to continue in a business that I've been involved in for many years.

"In the case of Henk Mol, on the eve of the Earthshaker tour he conveniently 'quit' his position (and even has the NERVE to go back to some bands on our roster to tell them how he 'left' Metallysee and is in the process of starting his own booking agency and would like to book their tours from now on).

"Now while I don't absolve myself from any responsibility of these recent errors, the fact remains that before I took my leave, I have been doing the No Mercy and X-Mas tours (for example) twice a year for the past nine years that were completely successful. As most of you know, some of these tours had up to 8 and 9 bands and they always went to the and everyone was always paid in full.
