Celestial Crown - Working On New Album

Estonian gothic/doom metal act Celestial Crown is currently working on a new album. The release date for Ascending's follow-up is still under wraps but the band hopes it will happen in 2016. Celestial Crown have no official female vocalist now since Diana Volkova left back in 2014.

Sargeist - Announce Line-Up Changes

Finnish bringers of chaos and destruction, black metal act Sargeist have announced a big line-up change in the band as 3 members left. Bassist Perttu Pakkanen, drummer Jani "Horns" Rekola as well as long-time vocalist Marko "Hoath Torog" Saarikalle all quit. That leaves founding member Shatraug and guitarist VJS. According to the remaining members, the band will return this year with a new line-up and album.

Skyforger - To Play At Zobens Un Lemess Open Air 2016

Latvian folk black metal act Skyforger announced that they will play at the Zobens un Lemess Open Air 2016 in home turf. This festival will take place in the Latvian country side in Lone, from 8th-10th July. The festival's musical line up will contain over 20 bands, playing ethnic music, folk rock and folk metal styles. Ancient crafts workshops, educational lectures concerning history, historical reconstruction clubs demonstrations, knights battles and medieval games - will all take place at the festival Zobens un Lemess 2016.

Witchcraft - New Album Samples Online

Swedish classic doom masters Witchcraft will release their new album, Nucleus, on January 15th via Nuclear Blast next week. The effort will be made available as a CD, lavish digipak (also as a t-shirt bundle), on vinyl (black, clear, splatter, gold) and as a digital download. As the release date approaches, they have now shared audio samples of all the songs from the record which can be streamed in the YouTube clip below now. The 69 Eyes - Share New Album Cover, Tracklist, Trailer

At the end of last year, Finnish vampires The 69 Eyes announced that they would release a new album in 2016. Today we get to see the new album's cover artwork, and the tracklist of Universal Monsters as well as the first trailer of the recordings sessions. Leatherwolf - Former Members Launch New Band

Former Leatherwolf members, guitarists Carey Howe and Geoff Gayer, have teamed up with solo recording artist Wreck Ignition to form Haunt Of Jackals. The band began to take shape in 2015 after Howe and Gayer decided to launch a modern metal band which clearly showcased some of their newer hardcore metal influences. The duo teamed up with recording artist Wreck to deliver the vocal melodies and grinding verses, and added power drummer Dan Bruette and longtime colleague Pat Guyton (Leatherwolf) on bass.

Sólstafir - New Video, To Play 'Ótta' On European Tour

Iceland's own Sólstafir have recently released a new video which can now be seen below. It was created for the track "Miðaftann" from their latest album Ótta. The video was directed by Vesa Ranta and Harri Haataja, starring Guðmundur Ingi Thorvaldsson, whose last music video work was Iron Maiden's "The Final Frontier". In other news, the atmospheric metal band will play the album Ótta in its entirety - complete with strings and piano - followed by a selection of fan favourites from Sólstafir's history on their upcoming European tour next May.
