Fairytale Abuse - Call It A Day

After 12 years, Danish melodic black metal outfit Fairytale Abuse has decided to call it quits. The band posted a lengthy statement on their MySpace page: "The band's decision is made mutually between the band members and comes as a natural decision after long periods of inactivity. But also several external and internal causes had impact on the decision."

Marionette - New Album Details, Live Footage Of New Song Online

Gothenburg, Sweden based metal-sextet, Marionette, are set to release their upcoming album entitled Nerve on November 14th. Nerve is the band's third album and will be released digitally via Pivotal Rockordings in all major web-retail outlets and streaming services while the physical album will be self-released by the band in individually numbered high-quality digipaks featuring two exclusive bonus tracks. The album artwork is being handled by Gustavo Sazes of Abstrata Design (Arch Enemy, Firewind).

Deathstars - To Release A Compilation Album

Swedish industrial gothic band Deathstars is set to release a compilation album entitled The Greatest Hits On Earth on November 4th via Nuclear Blast. No word yet on their upcoming album. "Metal", one of two new singles off of the aforementioned compilation album, will be released on October 14th, 2011, via iTunes.

Lacuna Coil - New Song Snippet Online

"Trip The Darkness", a snippet of a new single off of Lacuna Coil's upcoming new album Dark Adrenaline is now available online. You can listen to it below. Dark Adrenaline has been penned for a January 2012 release via Century Media. This single is now exclusively available on iTunes Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Australia. "Trip The Darkness" will be released on October 9th in the UK, October 10th in the rest of Europe, October 11th in North American and Spain, October 12th in Sweden, Finland and Hungary, and October 17th in Italy.

Visions Of Atlantis - Cancel Upcoming UK Tour Dates

Mario Plank, Visions Of Atlantis' male singer, is forced to sit out the UK Tour dates with Leaves' Eyes due to voice and health problems. For that reason, the band will not play these UK shows. But fear not Metal Female Voices Fest fans, the band reckons he will be ok and will take part in the festival's ninth edition.

Italian power metal band Drakkar will release their new album, entitled When Lightning Strikes, in a deluxe digipak edition on January 16th via My Kingdom Music. The album has been recorded and mixed at Elnor Studio by Mattia Stanciou (Labyrinth, Crown Of Autumn) and mastered at House Of Audio/Hofa by Jürgen Lusky (Angra, Pink Cream 69).

1349 - To Release First-Ever Live DVD, Details Revealed

Norwegian black metal outfit 1349 are set to release their first-ever live DVD, entitled Hellvetia Fire - The Official 1349 Bootleg, on the 24th of October through Candlelight Records.

The DVD was filmed live at the Bikini Test Club in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland on November 12, 2005. It also features a special live appearance from Tom Fischer (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Triptykon).

Dawn Of Demise - Working On New Album

Danish death metallers Dawn Of Demise are currently working on their new album, which will be the follow-up to A Force Unstoppable, released in 2010.

The band issued a very short update on their Facebook page: "The next album will contain 12 songs and the running time will be 40 minutes. Tue Madsen (Halford, The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Behemoth, Kataklysm, etc.) will be engineering, mixing and mastering it, and finally the cover is being handled by Marco H (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Septycal Gorge, Vomit The Soul, etc.). So you know."
