Jag Panzer - Update On The New Album

Jag Panzer's guitarist Christian Lasegue has checked in with the following update:

"Sorry it's been so long since we've posted any info! But here's the deal: We have been writing and demoing songs for the new album, Scourge Of The Light. We have one more to go and then we'll begin the actual recording process. The songs are sounding great!

The whole process has been slower than we'd like, but everything is on track and SPV/Sony plans to release it February 2011. We just viewed the artwork for the album cover and it looks amazing! We'll try to do a better job of keeping you all informed: maybe some video footage of us in working in the studio, as well as general updates on our progress."

Impaled Nazarene - New Album On The Way

After their two year break, the guys of Impaled Nazarene have announced the details regarding a new upcoming album. The following message has been issued:

"We have finished all recordings of our 11th studio album Road To The Octagon. It took us precisely 6 days at Hellhole studio with our very own soundman Max "Miami/safari" Kostermaa.

Circa 33min!! No slow songs, no flirting with power/doom whatever. This is Impaled Nazarene at its most violent in years. And yes, lots of people have been calling for more punk and here it is delivered!! D-Beat yes! Guitar and bass (YES) solos!

Max starts mixing the album and the rest of us will take well deserved break. We will master the album with Mika Jussila at Finnvox studio on the 27th of August. Press/album photos have been already shot by Jarkko Viitasaari. We will do a video also, most probably from Enlightenment Process track. And we did record two extra tracks. This is tied to new album/20th anniversary thing, you guys will get something in October. More of that later!"

Road To The Octagon tracklist (in no order):

Tentacles Of The Octagon
Reflect On This
Convulsing Uncontrollably
Under Attack
Cult Of The Goat
Execute Tapeworm Extermination

Incantation - Cancel This Weekend's Live Appearances

US death metal act Incantation has been forced to cancel their appearances at this year's Stonehenge and Mass Deathstruction festivals. Incantation frontman John McEntee has issued the following statement, explaining the cancellations:

"It is with great regret we announce that we had to cancel our headlining festival appearance at the Stonehenge Fest in Holland and the Mass Deathstruction Fest in Belgium this weekend. Between us and our booking agent we did all we could to try to make the fest appearance happen, but only after many attempts we had to come to the conclusion that there was just no way to make it happen.

We want apologize both fest organizers for giving us this opportunity. we also want to thank all our supporters that were looking forward to our performances. we know that both promoters are very stand up people, and I'm sure both fest will be a great success."

Incantation is still scheduled to appear at the Hostile City Death Fest in Philadelphia, PA on August 27th as well as the Noctis IV Metal Fest in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 24th.

Marduk - Central America Shows Postponed

Swedish black metallers Marduk have posted the following on their myspace blog:

"Because of misinformation from one of the airlines involved in Marduk's travel to Central America the band got uphold and couldn't get on the connection flight. It was totally the fault of the airline. Marduk had just completed one of the planned three flights to Costa Rica when the problem occurred. There was no time to book new flights to make it in time to do the 3 shows. The band and booking agency are currently checking options to rebook the shows as soon as possible. Marduk feels very unfortunate for the situation as the band is eager and burning with devotion to march across Central America. More news to be posted as soon as possible".

The remaining 3 shows scheduled to be played were as follows:
July 30 - San Salvador, El Salvador
July 31 - San Pedro Sula, Honduras
August 01 - Guatemala City, Guatemala

Ill Niño - First Week Of European Tour Postponed

It is with much regret that Ill Niño must cancel the first week of shows for their upcoming European tour.

The band explains: "Our singer Cristian Machado was hospitalized last week, and after many tests, found out he has six herniated discs, and a pressured nerve against his spine. Cris is going through major treatment and rehabilitation, to be able to get back to normal. We all wish Cristian a speedy recovery, as he can't wait to get back and play for you all, as we all do!

After Cristian undergoes the necessary therapy for his back, we will now start our European Festival dates on Friday, August 6th, at the Wacken Open Air Festival, and finish on August 22nd. We apologize for any incovenience, but it was unexpected and beyond our control."

Riverside - Frontman Releases Another Solo Album

Riverside vocalist/bassist Mariusz Duda is just about to finish recording the material for his second album Lunatic Soul II. Everthing, for the first time is being done in the Serakos studio in Warsaw and is supervised by Robert Srzednicki and Magda Srzednicka. At the moment the work is focused on the vocal parts; and the mixing and mastering of the material is due in August.

Lunatic Soul's White Album is a continuation of the debut. It is the second part of the diptych about the journey through the land of the dead. "White" ? because this album's cover is... the negative image of the first one.

"There is a little fear that the listeners, seeing a white cover with the characteristic sign and logo 'lunatic soul' but without any '2' or 'II,' will think that it is a kind of re-release of the first album," says the author of Lunatic Soul. "That's why I'd like to highlight that it's going to be entirely new material, and the cover looks as it looks because since the beginning it was supposed to be a black and white diptych. Lunatic Soul is simply a double album divided into two single ones by the period of two years' anticipation. And now there comes the time for its second and last part."

Mariusz Duda added: "It's still a story about the journey through the afterworld, and more specifically about a journey through a certain place that exists somewhere in-between. White doesn't refer here to a literal return to life. The protagonist will still remain on the other side. White doesn't mean that instead of dark sounds we'll hear happy songs and nightingales singing, either. It will still be very characteristic, trans-like, and (as I like to call it) oriental-alternative musical journey. In many places maybe even a little more oriental and maybe more unsetting. For instance, in one of the songs the protagonist will find himself surrounded by four white naked walls, dressed in... a straitjacket. Of course I wanted to create a lot of "light" sounds, a certain kind of lightness, on this album. And I admit that in many moments?with the help of Robert and Magda?I've accomplished exactly what I was dreaming of. It will surely still be a blend of everything I like, from Dead Can Dance, Peter Gabriel from IV or Passion , through films and books about ghosts, up to my favourite Silent Hill, yet I can already hear that the second album, despite the continuation, will sound differently. I hope, though, that the sounds on it will not leave the majority of the lunatic souls indifferent.".
