Cain's Offering - Announce First Live Shows

Some might have wondered when Cain's Offering, the brainchild band of ex-Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen, featuring Stratovarius members Timo Kotipelto and Jens Johansson, would perform live. The wait is over, and the Japanese are the first audience since the band's formation in 2009 to get a live show. The Finnish supergroup will embark on a concert tour in Japan, scheduled for the end of February 2016, in the cities of Tokyo and Osaka. These news, previously rumoured by the fans, were proven right as Cain's Offering have posted a promotional poster of the tour dates, naming the tour Resurrection Japan Tour 2016. No additional details of this tour, however, were announced yet but one can always hope for more shows.

Scorpions - Berlin Show Cancelled

Scorpions have announced that their Berlin (Germany) concert, scheduled for November 3rd is cancelled due to technical problems. The band elaborates in their official website about the root of the cancelation. Basically, it was impossible to scale down the arena show and technical equipment needed to perform in a small club without compromising the musical quality.

Distorted Harmony - Release New Demo

Israeli progressive innovators Distorted Harmony have released the demo version of their newest instrumental song. This comes after unleashing no less than 6 individual teasers, and a statement that came earlier on their Facebook page: "You asked! so no - The Reckoning isn't a new album; it's a new song - an instrumental. Týr - Working On A New Album

The Faroese folk metal outfit Týr just got the all clear to start recording their eighth full-length installment. You'll do well to remember that their last album, Valkyrja, was released only a couple of years ago, in 2013. Týr's guitarist and vocalist Heri Joensen has shared the news on his personal Facebook page.

Nightwish - Win 'Metal Anthem Of The Year' Award

Nightwish have announced that their song "Shudder Before The Beautiful" was awarded "The Metal Anthem Of The Year" award at Metal Hammer Awards 2015 that were held in Berlin, Germany recently. Nightwish's Troy Donockley and fill-in drummer Kai Hahto took the award on behalf of the entire band. The Finns released the song as a promotional move for their 2015 album Endless Forms Most Beautiful.

Silent Voices - Elias Vilijanen To Guest On Tour

Steven Wilson - Crowned Prog Rock King At Progressive Music Awards

After receiving very positive feedback for his brilliant 2015 album, Hand. Cannot. Leprous - Guitarist Petter Hallaråker To Fill In Live

One of Norway's inspiring progressive acts, Leprous, have just announced that guitarist Øystein Landsverk will take a parental leave soon, due to the upcoming birth of his first child. The band were pre-planning this with ICS Vortex and Rendezvous Point's guitarist, Petter Hallaråker. The lads at Leprous stated accordingly that they will be playing the remaining dates of this year's tour as usual, with Petter stepping up to substitute Øystein Landsverk.

Epica - Coen Janssen Sits Out Upcoming Tour

Epica will be playing without their long time keyboardist Coen Janssen on their upcoming North American tour. Coen has revealed that the reason is his wife was diagnosed with cancer. It is still unclear who will fill in for Coen at this time, but Epica promised the tour will go as planned. Coen should return to the stage with them in October. We wish his wife, Linda, a full recovery.

Experimental metallers Shaolin Death Squad have announced the name of their long-awaited upcoming EP: As You Become Us. This five-piece EP will be the first record the band has produced since 2010's greatly-appreciated Five Deadly Venoms. Riverside - Share Third New Album Teaser

If you expected another teaser for the upcoming Riverside, that is exactly what is happening. The Polish progressive metallers Riverside have showcased only one new song from their new record opting instead to share a series of teasers. Now they just released their third and final teaser for Love, Fear And The Time Machine, called "Time Machine". Arion - Lassi Vääränen Announced As New Singer

Tony MacAlpine - Postponing Tour Due To Illness

Tony MacAlpine was forced to postpone his upcoming Asia and Australia tour. In a sad post on his Facebook page, Tony explained he had fallen ill last week, and rushed to the hospital. After multiple examinations, cancer seems to be the cause.
