Skeletonwitch - New Song Online, Album Details Revealed

"The Infernal Resurrection", a brand-new track by US black/thrash metallers Skeletonwitch can now be streamed on the band's official album page, Forever Abomination. The cover artwork can be seen at the same location.

The album - Skeletonwitch's first with new drummer Dustin Boltjes (Demiricous) - will be issued in three formats: digital download; a six-panel, plastic-free digipak; and a triple-gatefold LP (which in turn will be available in several color variants).

The album was produced by Grammy-winner Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed) and the album's artwork is done by Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Holy Grail, Cannabis Corpse), who also contributed the cover art for the band's 2009 release, Breathing The Fire.

Forever Abomination will be released internationally on the following dates:

Mainland Europe: October 7
United Kingdom: October 10
North America: October 11
Japan: October 19

Forever Abomination tracklist:

01. This Horrifying Force (The Desire To Kill)
02. Reduced To The Failure Of Prayer
03. Of Ash And Torment
04. Choke Upon Betrayal
05. Erased And Forgotten
06. The Infernal Resurrection
07. Rejoice In Misery

It did indeed rock. Not as intensely fast as the stuff from Breathing The Fire, but somehow a little more...dynamic without losing their minimalist sort of sound.

Love the album artwork as well.

Quite. I've always found them perfectly dynamic enough for their minimalist sound, actually. I can get tired of thrash metal pretty fast but whatever they're doing, they're doing it right.

I dig the artwork too and am thinking about getting one of their shirts with album artwork on it, but probably Breathing the Fire first if available. It's pretty intense and probably my favorite out of the three album covers.

Daaaaaaaaamn. They're getting too comfortable...
They need to go industrial or groove for a couple of years, cycle a few members, then return to their roots and release the number 1 album of 2018.

I'm probably gonna end up pre-ordering one of those larger bundle sets. Too bad I'm not a huge fan of the t-shirt that comes with it. You're right, Breathing The Fire is easily their best album artwork thus far.

After further listen, "The Infernal Resurrection" (at least the intro) sounds really similar to "The Despoiler Of Human Life" from their last album.

They also have a new song on that site. Rolls pretty well.
