Myth Of I - Share New Song
The Massachusetts-based djent/progressive metal collective Myth Of I present the newest single, "Naïveté", featuring vocalist Michael Lessard of The Contortionist. Mixing and mastering of the song was handled by Jamie King. The accompanying video clip created by Jennings Smith.
Tyler Fritzel (guitars) commented: "Naïveté" is an interesting song. It was originally written for a class I was taking in college where I had to write a song with lyrics and record/mix/master everything in a single week. With those guidelines, the overall composition of the track is quite straightforward and fairly simple. However, I found writing with that mindset allowed me to explore some really expansive choruses and melodic ideas that I wouldn’t have heard had the song been very complex and technical.
"I pitched "Naïveté" to Jennings shortly after I had finished writing it and he liked it a lot but we both felt it wasn’t really in the style of what we were doing at the time. Fast forward a few years to Jennings and I reaching a point where we really wanted to release music with vocals as a fun way to try something different momentarily, and it was perfect for that. We were fortunate enough to have Mike Lessard of the famed The Contortionist on the track and he really helped the melodies I wrote flourish in a truly unique and beautiful way."
